I have been studying real hard for a while now, and found that the scaled scores on Kaplan FLs and AAMC FLs are different from each other and also different between tests from the same writers. So I can't judge whether I've actually improved when the scaled score varies so much.

I've given up basing my progress on an improvement in the composite scaled score, and am just working to get less questions wrong overall - presumably the less questions you get wrong the better scaled score you should get, right?

Anyone else out there reviewing like this? What are your thoughts?

Use Kaplan tests to diagnose content areas you are struggling in. Do not take their scaled scores as predictors whatsoever.

Take AAMC for better predictions of where you stand. Their scales vary a little based on the test difficulty, but not nearly as drastically as Kaplan. Although nothing can truly predict test day.

Thats my take on it.
