MCAT scheduling question

If you get your scores in June, that is by no means "late."

Applications actually open for submission in June and you'll probably just be waiting to be verified.

I have a first MCAT score that I will be applying with, but I'm also definitely retaking. I want to submit my primary as early as possible and I don't want my 2nd MCAT to delay my applications at all. Does this mean I have to pick an MCAT date that releases before the first week of June? Or could I take the May 17th or 22nd exam and update in mid-late June after my scores get released and still not be "late"? (I guess they'll still be trying to verify my primary in mid-late June?) I just don't want the MCAT to clash with finals, preferably I could take it after finals...

You will want a test date where the score will be released before schools will allow an application to be complete. This is not the same as when you can submit. AMCAS does their first transmittal of applications to schools at the end of June, and most schools don't even send out secondaries until then. So as long as your MCAT score is released by the beginning of July there should be no delay.

So would I have to wait to submit my primary or would I be able to submit and then update?

You can submit your primary while you're waiting for your scores and you'd be just waiting for your new scores to upload to your application.

If you want to take the MCAT again, then yes you can update it with the new date after submission.
