I saw the other thread about how much a verbal score could improve on average, but whats the avg improvement from a diagnostic? I know im being a little worrisome, but the score i recieved on my diag is nowhere near what i want to recieve on the actual MCAT.

So basically...what is the avg improvement from a diagnostic test to an actual mcat test score?

Also, I am taking TPR but i also purchased examcrackers to follow their 10-week home schedule..do you guys think im over-doing it? Maybe i'll exhaust myself? 😀

You have ample time to study so I wouldn't worry about your diagnostic. I have seen people jump nearly 20 points from their initial diagnostic. It depends soley on the effort you put in. Don't worry about the first diagnostic, just study and practice, you will be fine. Good luck "yaar" lol...

Hi there:

The AAMC has a lot of data about re-takers and their scores, on the MCAT website.

Your actual performance can be better or worse than your Diagnostic. In other words, "your mileage may vary!" It depends on a lot of factors--the actual questions, how you are feeling on test day, how much practice you've done, the fact that the test is the REAL THING (not a Diag).

There is a school of thought here on SDN that says that people score within 1-3 points of their diags (usually AAMC tests most accurate), either way.

The thing about the MCAT is that the performance is so individual.

TPR went from: 4911 - 20, 4921 - 23, 4931 - 27 (I think), aamc's 8-30 straight 10's, 7-33 10-11-12, 9-33 straight 11's Got real burned out at the end, pretty common, so watch that.

Motivation to get your a$$ in gear whatcha know about that?

BTW, I do not expect a 33 on the real thing....somewhat less, hopefully a 30 or 31 due to no sleep. If I underestimated anything about this test it was the anxiety it would put on me the nights leading up to it.

I started 4911 at 20 as well, Improved to AAMC 7 32 (11,9,12) and AAMC 9 31(11,10,10). Hopefully MCAT will be better!
