For those who have taken the MCAT, besides taking a class, what did you find the single most helpful thing to do in preparation?

Flashcards! I always study by making flashcards, and for the MCAT I had a TON of them. I would carry them around in my purse and pull them out when I had random downtime (i.e. waiting in line at the store).

Practice questions. Simple and cannot be repeated enough. It's not just abotu knowing the material but the questions too. I honestly think the classes thing is a hit or miss depending on how you, alone, study.

No practice tests = low score.

Also, work on problem solving. The biosciences section in my most recent test relied very little on knowledge you bring to the test and more on your ability to take information presented to you and then work with it.
