Has anyone heard anything about the MCAT Visual aid/Audiolearn. I have seen a lot of advertisements including on this site. It cost $399 I know they give 16 DVDs with 36 hours of instruction. I am taking the August MCAT so I will have time to go through them several times. Any advice?

It is almost worthless. I bought it and almost threw up when I started noticing all the mistakes in it...and I kid you not when I say the often spelled Biology wrong in the Topic Pages of the videos...they also spelled Chemistry wrong on topic pages.

ie... at the beginning of a section on the video it would say something like
"Organic Chemstry" or "Biolgy" ... I can't remember exactly..but I was like Oh Crap...I just wasted some money.

There is only one guy on there who is any good at teaching.... all the other sections are taught in the most boring manner I've ever seen by people who CANNOT teach worth a hoot. They seem to be simply reading their notes verbatim....thats it...you're paying $400 to have someone read cliffnotes to you while you look at their face with them just sitting there. (now and then they'll throw up a cheap looking graphic)... and there are no animations...just the same cheesy graphics you see right now at home if you open any science book.

My advice...save your money. I shoulda bought Enron stock instead. 🙂

Anyone else who has these will verify everything I've said is true.

To each their own...

I purchased the MCAT Visual Aid materials and they were very accurate and easy to use. I sat at home a few hours each day viewing the DVDs and following along with the Manual, and I scored a 28 on the MCAT and got into medical school.

this was the only way I studied for the majority of the MCAT, but i also used an extra Verbal Reasoning practice book to strengthen that area for me.

I would strongly recommend the product if you don't have money to take a Kaplan-like course, but still would like to sit at home and have the information spoken to you rather than having to read through books.

It was enjoyable, easy, and it got me into medical school, so i definitely cannot complain.
