I was wondering how to best explain my mcat scores when asked "what has changed from last year?". I had a 28 (9PS, 9VR, 10BS) last June and a 29 (10PS, 9 VR, 10BS) this May. Obviously, this is not a significant change and does not look good. I have a 3.7 GPA (science and overall)
I haven't been completely idle since last year. In the past year, I also took the GRE, applied to graduate school, and was working for a non-profit organization. I will be attending a top tier school for public health in the fall. But, I'm having trouble explaining why I did not significantly increase my score.
I primarily have difficulty in PS….and I spent almost all my time studying for this section the second time around. I was completely surprised with a 10 because I thought the second MCAT I took was significantly harder than the first, especially for PS. In hindsight, I realize I made a mistake in my studying and did not focus on the other sections as much as I should have to significantly raise my score.
