is it possible to take the mcats without physics 2, i may have to due to being pressed for time.

You would likely be screwed. But the only way for you to truly know is to study physics on your own heavily, and work out countless practice problems, then go ahead and take a diagnostic and see if you get the score you want on the Physical Science section.

They don't call it Physical Sciences for no reason, you know

I did it - and scored very high in PS. BUT - I studied that material hardcore for about 6 months, teaching it to myself.

If you are motivated to learn it on your own, it is possible but if you aren't going to invest a lot of time in learning it, you won't do well. There was a lot of physics 2 material on my test.

Physics 2? As in electromagnetism/electrostat/etc.? There are worse things for you to skip. For what it's worth, most people at my school (a mid-major in terms of academics--apparently we're a new Ivy...) take the MCAT three-quarters of the way through during Physics 2.

Again, if you review hardcore and remember what you did in high school (especially if you took AP), that should be sufficient. If you skipped a year of physics, then you might have a problem...

In many Universities, Physics 2 has an abc component, and is a full year. So I believe he won't be taking any physics whatsoever at the University level.
