MCG Roll Call

Radiohead,

Dude, You are not painting a pretty picture. Thanks for the warning though. At the prospective student seminar I met a R.N. that will be starting medschool in the fall - I sooooo hope that I get to partner with her when learning procedures!!

Procedures are worth 5% and small group 20% - That DOES NOT seem right at all! I guess it's so that someday when we cause our patients discomfort by performing procedures incorrectly, we will be able to talk to them in a touchy-feely kinda way so that they don't sue us! 😀

Well if you are a touchy feely kind of guy, you will love ECM. It really doesn't matter who puts your NG tube down, it still sucks. The other procedures are cool. We did casting, blood drawing, and suturing. Fortunately, the suturing was on pig ears...not on eachother. Get ready for anatomy though, its a beatch.

I'm not into the touchy-feely stuff myself, so that part of ECM will probably suck, but learning procedures will be cool (especially casting = my first step to Ortho). I look forward to Anatomy. No doubt it's gonna be intense, but I imagine it being the most interesting first year course (at least for my part - seeing as I'm interested in a surgical specialty).

3.75 more weeks of freedom - Let's enjoy it while we got it! 😎

Sup yall

Im gonna be applying to MCG in the fall. Does anyone know anything about the ED program. What were your thoughts on the interview.

Thanks for your help

PS. In general, when is a good time to apply??

I applied ED and got accepted, I really liked it, I found out the last of september, and have not thought about it since, It really reduces the stress, but only do it if your sure you want to go to mcg, and that your a somewhat competitive applicant because if ya don't get in it will hurt ya chances at other schools. The interviews at mcg were awsome so laid back and the drs try to make you feel as relaxed as possible, just go in there be yaself and it will all work out, I talked to my interviewer about turkey hunting for like 20 min, and he liked me, so don't go in and try to feed them a line of bull or they may catch ya

Are any of you not residents of Georgia?

I'm interested in MCG - I was born in Georgia but I'm a Florida resident. Should I even waste time applying or does MCG consider the southeast region more favorly than other non-Georgia states?

Thanks.

hi, unless you have some awsome stats, Its very hard to get in from out of state, they only accept like 5% from out of state, I don't think it matters your from the SE

since most of the people here are going to mcg, I'm looking for a roomate for the fall semester, have a 2 bdroom 2 bath off washington Rd. if so let me know thanks

I am going to apply to MCG for Fall of 2005. I have lived in Georgia most of my life and am going to a georgia college. What would you consider to be "safe" to apply early decision? Are there any guidelines or averages the school gives for ED applicants?

These are all MD/PhD students. Forget it if you're applying out of state.

Best of luck to all applying to MCG!

What is the absolute lowest MCAT you have ever seen accepted at MCG....assuming all other credentials stand out.
