Hey guys, I am trying to get into MCPHS-BOSTON 2 year..... I want to know how its like and if i have a good chance of getting in it with a 3.85 GPA and i am yet to take General Chemistry 1 & 2 during spring......

Please somebody reply to my question

You probably have a good shot. they take in less 2nd years, than 3rd years. 2nd year at mcp in boston is hard, especially organic 1/2. try to take those classes in the summer if you can to get them out of the way. i am a grad of mcp boston. started year 1 there.

um.... that sounds interesting, but do you think they will organic taking during summer ? just checked it and i think its only medical microbiology & Calculus is hard apart from organic

Interesting...well, I'm trying to see if Calculus II is really required here. I'm applying for a Year 3 spot. I have almost all of the pre-reqs done (and beyond) and I'm getting my BS degree in Chemistry this year. So what's really the deal? Can anyone locate a pre-req table for me? I've called, I've e-mailed, etc. but I haven't gotten descriptive or definitive answers yet...I'd like to hear from a variety of people though. Thanks!

Calc II is required for the Boston campus year 3 admission. If you are going to be getting a bachelor's you can apply to the accelerated pharmD in Worcester where they do not require calc II for admission. Organic I/II is offered to students in the summer sessions for students who want to get it out of the way.

If you look on the pharm cas school page, it tells you all the courses you have to have completed. also, if you look under the Pharm D curriculum under the mcphs website, it tells you also.

ohh ok. so is physics 1 (calc-based) required too? because i took the algebra/trig-based physics 1 and 2 courses.

pharmcas school page? let me try finding that then.

the admissions office is pretty lenient with physics. for instance, they always accept physics credit if you took AP physics in HS. i'm sure if you took the algebra based physics you are golden. i would double check with the admissions office just to make sure though.

Yeah i think they will take it and for the first ph1 year ( 3rd year) you must have good GPA they have only 25 seats every year.....

i actually started there right out of high school so I didn't have to transfer in 3rd yr. it's pretty easy to get into the school right out of High school.

Hey everyone I'm currently a 5th year transfered in 2 years ago - - summer before I know they made me take Microbiology and Calc II (these constantly changing- what it is now who knows) - - feel free to write me if you have any questions

On another note - - Dean walked into into our room yesterday and went over the Board passer rate since he took over - - its been climbing each year; last year was a 97.6% (national average is 95%) and he just told us he's going to make sure we hit 100% were going to be having all sorts of board practice exams at the end of the year (including law) to access are progress -- I have nothing but positive things to say about the school
