Hey everyone! Im a P3 at MCP Worcester... Why are you all freaking out?! The class is not full, interviews go all the way into March if not April!

The number one problem with this site is that someone comes on here, makes a comment, freaks you out and everyone seems to listen!

If you hear negative comments about MCP Worcester, its plain and simple, Its a student who couldn't manage their time or the workload and simply failed out, thats the bottom line. If you don't plan on working hard and studying, then don't apply to MCP Worcester! Im sick of disgruntled students bashing the school.

You guys need to realize one thing, this is graduate school, not undergrad... that means of course expect it to be harder, but since 1823 people have been graduating from this school and this only means one thing...ITS VERY VERY POSSIBLE!!! Its actually not hard at all. I find it harder to fail than it is to pass, you would have to really not study at all to actually fail a class in my opinion.

If you're ready to study and manage your time, apply and you wont be disappointed. If you plan on being lazy and listening to past students like yourself... apply somewhere else, its simple, either way the class will fill up, with or without you.

Good Luck to you all!
Thanks so much for this!! I find myself exasperated by all the negativity and anxiety on the whole site - not just on this thread!

This program, I feel, will be like anything else in your life - your success will be relative to your effort. If you're a good student now and you continue to apply those same behaviors, along with the ability to manage your time well, you'll not fail. Your experience will be what you make of it.

I agree with you totally and I appreciate you taking the time to make your statement....it was great.

I have several questions that I would like to ask :
1. What kind of books do P1 students use for their US health care class and physio classes?
I really want to read ahead because I heard those are the most difficult classes for P1 students.
2.For the orientation, do we have to take any special tests before matriculation?
3. I am wondering what your housing plans will be. I would like to live on campus, but it's too expensive. Anyone here wants to live off campus and look for a roommate. Please let me know.
Thank you very much for all your inputs.
any helps would be greatly appreciated , and I will see you all for the class of 2016.😍

Just an FYI - For anyone wondering why they haven't been charged by the school yet - I spoke to admissions today and it seems as though the person in charge of handling deposits has gone on maternity leave, so there has been a bit of a lag in the process while they figure out who will take over full responsibility for it.

Hello everyone,

I applied and sent in my application info to this school a while back (mid-summer)...I was notified via a letter in the mail that I was not granted an interview offer I wanna say in September...

Does anyone know if I can make an appeal to have my application reviewed once again, so I can hopefully earn an interview? I really like the school and what its all about, and I would love a chance to prove to admissions that I deserve a seat in the class.

Thanks!

I was accepted, but decided to give up my seat 🙁
I really liked the school, but I decided to go elsewhere... Hopefully
I'm making the right choice. The staff at MCPHS seemed wonderful... So,
to all students that are applying or already plan to attend the school... I wish you
all good luck 🙂

I gained admissions to MCPHS but I will be withdrawing my application. I would prefer UCONN where the tuition is half as much or St. Joes because they treated me like they wanted me there during the interview. MCPHS left a bad taste in my mouth after interviewing. I am a talented bright student and I hope MCPHS will make other applicants feel welcome. I unfortunately was not one of them.

Wow...I had a completely different experience than you. Perhaps they will learn about making a first impression if more bright students pass them up. Wishing you the best of luck!

Thanks for that post! I've been sitting on an acceptance letter for almost 30 days and I have to admit that most of my hesitation comes from all those horrible things people have posted online. It is a lot of money to invest in a degree, and if the school is really as horrible as some say it is, I would rather go somewhere else. It's a relief to hear from a current student that Worcester isn't the academic blackhole that some students have painted it out to be. Thanks 🙂)

Hello, All,

I will have an interview next week, and have a question for the writing test. 🙂

Those who already took the interveiw, could you please tell how long does the writing test take?

They give you 30 minutes to write from 5 different topics to choose from. Don't worry, the prompt is very easy to write. English is not my first language, but I still managed to write 1 page and 1/2. Trust me! The overall interview process is very relaxing, you shouldn't worry about anything.

Thank you for your answer!! I am not a native English speaker also.

I guess it is computer based writing, right? or old passioned (hand writing)?

Best interview ever. Please don't be worry at all. Great school with a great accelerated program🙂

Hello everyone,

I just received an interview invitation! Really excited and nervous, can someone please tell me what to expect? Like what questions they may ask? Thanks!

I PM'd you....congratulations on your invite!

Hi, hate to be a bother, but could you also help me with some advice? I've been lurking around these forums but recently got an invite!

Extremely excited and anxious. First interview, so I'm really nervous as what to prepare/expect. Thank you!

Hi everyone!

I have been on waiting list since 1 month. Is there any chances to get accepted this year ?
What you think about this guys ?

Hello,

I got accepted to MCPHS Worcester and have also been accepted to Western U in CA but was not able to get into the courses I needed this semester to complete their prereqs (all because they don't take AP credit!).

Most likely then I will go with MCPHS Worcester. I just want current students opinions on this school. I was told that there are a lot of opportunities to do rotations in CA. Is this true?

Accepted. 😀 great interview experience. their staff is super nice.
anyone have dorming opinions between lincoln or foster?

Congrats on your acceptance! I thought the staff was awesome as well - professional but warm at the same time.

I'm an older student so I'm going to Lincoln. I need some of my own space rather than sharing everything in the common areas of a suite. The renovated rooms seem really nice and I like to have a little walk to and from classes. Which way were you leaning?

I just declined my acceptance to Worcester, so there's at least one extra spot open 🙂

Would've loved to attend the accelerated program, except family has me tied down in my hometown and I was accepted into a local school with a good reputation in itself, so I'm hopefully headed there. Worcester had the most amazing admissions experience... great staff and great atmosphere. I really imagined myself happy there.

Good luck to everyone that's waiting for a response-- and to those who are waiting matriculation in the fall!

I was wondering the same thing about the US Health Care and Physio classes. I'm in touch with a current student there....let me see what I can find out.

There are no tests prior to orientation as far as I know.

Contrary to all the disgruntled reviews I have been reading, the staff have been very helpful and nice. The interview is in a couple weeks so I can debunk those accusations first-hand.

How is the public transportation from Boston to Worcester? Recommended hotels? I'm coming from Nebraska.

Agreed. They are super nice and helpful. To my knowledge, it would take 1-2 hrs by train to get from Boston to Worcester. I rented a car and drove. Beware, Mass drivers are crazy, and that's coming from a San Diegan (we are knowing for our bad driving habits) lol Also, if you drive, there are a lot of toll roads in Mass so keep change handy, and parking is very hard in Boston. Can't recommend any hotels since I stayed with some friends in Boston.

Agreed. They are really nice! 🙂

Just came back from Worcester yesterday after my interview. I heard there is a shuttle service (Worcester limo). I do not know the price rate since I did not use them.

I rented and drove a car. I think this is the cheapest way for transportation. I paid about $50 for rental and $12 for gas.

For tall fee, I took I-90 from Boston airport and paid $3.50, $1.50, and $2.50. So be ready to pay the fees.

I recommend you to get a hotel room in Auburn area. Hotels in Auburn area seem to be cheaper than hotels in Worcester. It take about 5-10 min drive from Auburn to MCPHS.

There is a Marriott that has a shuttle to the school and is not even a mile away with a special rate for MCPHS. It's $99 a night - just mention it at booking.
Best of luck on your interview!

Those who accepted into this school, did you receive a letter or a package for acceptance notification?

BTW, does anyone get rejected after interview?

I received a folder sized package with an acceptance letter and next steps.

Yes...I have heard of quite a few getting rejected after their interviews.

i dont really mind sharing the common space. might make it easier to meet people that way. i like lincoln's personal bathrooms but i heard they dont have a full kitchen, just a microwave and mini fridge. you'd have to eat out every day?

is there a cafeteria / meal plan option?

I can see why you'd want to do it, for sure. It's like a built in group to break the initial ice with.

Yes, it's true that there are no kitchens and no meal plan option at Worcester. That's an issue - but they just opened a cafe on the ground floor of the building selling salads, soups and sandwiches.

Yes, the living/learning center upstairs from the school has a common area with kitchens in each suite and everyone has their own bedrooms.

Thank you very much, Pharmacopeia516. I really appreciate all your help.

Hi pharmgril001-

I spoke to the student I know and he said that preparing for Physio Is difficult because the Professors for the course are quite specific about the information they want you to focus on. A lot of the info in the book is not important and they teach off their own slide presentations. US health care would be better to read ahead for. He said they will provide a book list during the summer and reading a bit at a time can prepare you for the course pretty well. If I'm able to find out the current titles, I'll let you know.
