• friendlier students/faculty in my opinion
• best vibe out of the two during interview day
• like the curriculum

Cons

• lower rank?
• not sure how much I would like Wauwatosa/Milwaukee compared to Madison
• further from family

UW-Madison
Pros

• love Madison
• stronger research?
• more prestige = better opportunities post medical school?
• closer to family

Cons

• more expensive (about $160,000 more)
• less diverse patient and student population
• not sure if I like the "statewide campus" idea

Summary: MCW with a full tuition scholarship and better vibe or UW-Madison due to its greater perceived prestige?

I'm not too interested in PC and currently very interested in specializing in neurosurgery or anesthesiology

If it is just Neurology then MCW if it is neurosurgery UW-madison.

For neuro, go with Madison. For PC, go MCW. Madison will open far more doors in neuro, which is sadly, still very important further down the road. There's no point beating around the bush.

actually I may change my vote to MCW it appears that MCW has a nsg residency home program. MCW: Residency Programs
