This is a bit late, but I'm an MSIV who will be certifying my rank list in less than 48 hours and am considering a 4-year internal medicine, preventive medicine combined program (giving me an MPH from Berkeley in the process). All of my other programs are straight 3-year IM programs.
I'm considering healthcare policy, admin, or management/consulting in the future. Does anyone have any advice on whether I need the extra PM/MPH training or would a regular IM program suffice?
What can an MD/MPH actually do that an MPH can't? Thank you.
