MD or DPM

Currently a pre-med, and my career goal is to go into surgical orthopedic sports medicine. I would love to hear any thoughts on going the MD versus DPM route.

Absolutely shadow both professionals! I will say that career goals for students change all the time even for physicians in residency. If you want to provide yourself any sort of flexibility, I highly recommend the MD route compared to the DPM route. However, if you're absolutely set on surgical orthopedic sports medicine than I recommend shadowing both and note important similarities/differences in their approach/scope to medicine and surgery.
