I had three interviews from Osteopathic Schools and three acceptances.

For Allopathic Schools, three rejection letter no interviews 😡 , it seems that DO is the only option for me.😀

Dude, be happy with those acceptances. A lot of people would be doing cartwheels with that success. If you wouldn't be happy going to a DO school, why did you apply?

if you really want to go MD, dont worry, theres still a lot of time for your other schools to make decisions.

Absolutely true. Think of your pre-med friends from college who would kill to be in your shoes. All of my pre-med friends that didn't make it would gladly take a DO offer.

no, DO is not the only option for you. You have the option to do what it takes to strengthen you application to get you into the school you really want to go to.

As far as your MD schools go...George Washington (in St. Louis if I'm thinking about the right one) is a very good medical school that takes excellent students. I believe that they are very highly ranked & you should not be that disappointed w/ a rejection from them. MCW...I applied there & was very surprised that I did not get an interview. I don't know if it was the OOS thing or what, but it's hard to predict what some schools are looking for.

Bottomline is that you should not attend anywhere that you will not be happy for a minimum of 2 years. If you are interested in something uber-competitive like Derm, Intervention Radiology...you might want to consider trying again for the allo-route. However, you can still obtain those same residencies as a DO, but you will be walking uphill to get there. Good luck

George Washington University School of Medicine is unranked and in Washington, DC. It is one of the best med schools in the United States... the ranking system sucks big time. Same with philly schools. Based on sheer ability to land you a residency almost any philly, nyc, or boston-area school will offer killer rotations and residency options. I don't think that this is stressed enough in the current ranking system. That's why even though PCOM isn't ranked, it is considered to be one of the best DO schools.

Challenge me (stupidly) if you must. 🙄

That's Washington University. George Washington University (GWU) is in DC.
