I see that there are very few profiles on mdapplicants for this cycle compared to previous cycles (I didn't check MD/PhDs).

Matriculate in 2004: 779 profiles
Matriculate in 2005: 653 profiles
Matriculate in 2006: 526 profiles
Matriculate in 2007: 32 profiles

Are people waiting until they get an acceptance before adding a profile or is mdapplicants is waning in popularity (if you can call ~650 profiles out of 35,000 applicants popular in the first place)?

Right, matriculants only display the "complete profiles," once this cycle is complete, many people will check the box in their update pages at the bottom saying they're officially done. This will increase the matriculant # siginficantly I presume.

Believe me, there are plenty of fake ones. If people have time to create several accounts to spam the forums and PM users to visit random porn links- there are plenty of people who would create fake profiles with ridiculous scores (I saw a couple of 3 digit MCAT scores in the hundreds, for example lol).

Yes, we get it. Irregardless is not a word. My brother in law uses it a lot and I want to explain to him every time that it is not a word, at least not one meaning what he thinks it does.

It's in both Merriam Webster and Oxford. Here's the definition from M-W:

I've seen those too. I don't know if they're fake or just the placeholder the person is using to not put up their real stats til the season is over.
