...and don't take everything you read on there as gospel. Also keep in mind that its a very self-selecting group who take the time to fill out profiles.

dont listen to the other guy, it's the most accurate site in the world. Dont you know only ppl with 36+ MCAT and 3.9+ GPA's go to medical school. Ppl with lower stats are automatically rejected, and have to resort to begging on the streets.

So why don't other people take the time?

Seriously, it's a great resource for the insecure beginners in this grueling process... we all have that nagging "what are my chances?" feeling when we start, and while nobody can give us the complete and certain answer that we'd like, we can at least read about other people's experiences.

So if you don't think the pool is broad enough, add to it.

PS: Some people are worried about the adcomms figuring out who they are and making decisions based on what they've put there... if that's you, just remember to put stuff up at the end of the application season to help the next guy who's in shoes that numerically resemble yours.

If I don't have to reapply in another cycle and get an acceptance for 2007, I will do that.

i finally started one after getting accepted...

and i feel like some people with loads of acceptances have mdapps and it didn't hurt them...
