I realize that English is probably not your first language...but why in the world are you posting questions about DVM to a premed board? They are two completely seperate degrees and I'm willing to bet most people here are not familar with DVM salaries, much less salaries in other countries.

I know of an MD in my hometown who got a DVM before he switched to human medicine. He also had a Phd.

MBBS is pretty much the same as MD as I understand it. MBBS is just what is granted in Europe and some other places.

how is that possible? my vet has over 10,000 patients. i sent $3000 his way last spring for 2 sick rabbits. he told me the money is good. He's more awesom than any MD i've ever been to too. I love that guy!

I considered veterinary medicine for a short time before dedicating myself to medicine. DVMs (on average) make approximately 40-60K a year. Not a bad salary by any means, but after four years of professional school, it seems a little low to me.

Maybe. I just don't appreciate the repeated demands for immediate info/someone's e-mail. I mean, she's asking the forum for a favor, but is nearly illegible and doesn't appear to have done any research of her own. Honestly, google is not that hard to use and more likely to give quick answers than posting a vet question to a series of medical boards.

My sincere advice to u is do what you want to do plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Don't make money the focus of your life because then you might end up miserable and pennyless. So plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz for your sake do what you like to do and take the age factor out of your sight. There are easy ways to make money but that usually invloves gambling and a lot of luck. So do what you want to do. You have said you are scared of dogs so I can only imagine that if you go dvm you will have to see dogs sometimes. How will you handle that? run out of the room. Dude do what you like. Oh and yes MBBS is same as MD. And plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz stop posting at this forum because you are making us nervous and atleast I already have enough to worry about OK. Sorry if I sound rude but finals aren't really fun you know. Good luck on whatever path you choose.

I truly doubt this girl/guy is a troll. The "plz" only tells me the "kiss ass" attitude, which, unlike the US, gets work done in some of the cultures that still exist on our planet. Maybe its just that. I dont think the person is trying to be a fob because more than "a wannabe" style of writing I see serious grammatical errors rather than spelling errors. So, I'd probably not give it more thought or get frustrated if I do not have answers to his/her question.

Actually I am a DVM turned into med Student, but definetly not because of money. There is lot more to these two professions than money. If earning a good salary is your criteria, then there are other professions. Please don't insult these noble professions. If you know how to browse internet, then you will find answeres for all your questions. Don't be so desperate, do your home work first.

Okay, that's very nice, but slang/a style that works in South Asian forums isn't necessary a good choice for a US based forum. When people responded indicating that they didn't understand her comments, she simply demanded more information. Even if we ignore the whole "posting an international veternary question in an US alleopathic medical forum" issue, this is not at all polite. I do not see where we have an obligation to be polite or helpful to obnoxious people who do not return the favor.

And my cat was totally against the veternary thing. I think he's against the veternary profession in general. He never has completely trusted me/the vet after I drugged him up for that long car trip...

I never suggested her slang was a good choice for such a forum either, and I hardly think she's being obnoxious. While you're right no obligation to help others exist, suggesting you have information and subsequently witholding it doesn't suggest good taste either. Peace. 👍

If you look through the rest of the forum she has posted the same questions on the India forum, the Europe forum and another one that I can't remember. In the India forum she has mentioned money and this is how I know about it. In the other one she has mentioned that she is scared of dogs. Also in the India forum she has mentioned that she want to be rich before 40. Now someone please tell me if the person is not just thinking financially. Ravi is correct that the poster can't be more than 18. Oh btw I have no intention of going to vet school but I did google and first three searches had results. If she is that desperate believe me in Pakistan people do Google.

I never liked cats and perhaps this is the reason that I don't like the MCAT.

Anyways dear Sohana no one barked at you, we were upset because you posted 4 postings in different forums and your main question was (now here is a summary from all your questions from all the forums).
I want to make money, in Pakistan Physician's don't start making money till their late 30's if I go to India for medical school will I be able to make money? I am scared of dogs but I got admission into a vet school after I become a vet can I make good money, or can I go to med school after vet school to make money?
Now you do realize that most of the people in this forum are not killing themselves to make money, yes it might be a benefit but the commitment comes from the passion for medicine. Your questions seemed very insensitive.
This is why some people might have been upset (including myself). About your English, I did my schooling till 9th in Pakistan. So I know that you can write better than you have unless you totally failed english in Metric exams. If worst comes to worst you can atleast spell out everything correctly.
Oh yes are you still planning to open up a bird clinic ?

Also amazingly you know cursing words in English, funny as I didn't know them when I came here and I still could write better than you.

P.S I never dreamt in English either, for some weird reason even my Professors speak Urdu to me in my dreams.

You guys are awfully unnecesarily harsh, btw. This post does have to do with medicine, as the OP is asking about doing an MD after becoming a vet, but it's clear that this forum is not going to provide any decent answers.
