Just curious, what schools do you think have the nicest and meanest rejection letters.... 😛

they are all the same...they usually start with "We regret to inform you...."

If you don't see CONGRATULATIONS!, you don't need to read anymore.

I wonder how often they accidentally send out acceptances letters to students they meant to reject and then have to clear it all up when the student sends in their deposit....it has to have happened before

I had a nice one from I forgot what school cuz I got too many rejection letters (lol) but it really encouraged me to apply again next year and it also provided info on how I can improve my applicant for the next year. It also included a form I can send in if I wanted them to keep my LORS and stuff on file for next year.

I hate the ones that tell u to chose another back career. 😡

I actually heard that those who did not get an supplemental invitation to touro univ. in cali were told that their apps were, and I quote, "inviable". Sounds pretty harsh to me.

I got a typical rejection from Univ of Maryland, but I call them the next day to ask what was wrong and what I could improve on. They tell me they would look over my file when this other lady gets back from a meeting.

A few hours later, i get an email congratulating me on being admitted for the class of 2012 (!!), and a list I courses i would still need to send in transcripts for. I was simply EXSTATIC, thinking they had looked over my file and changed their minds.

An hour later they send me another email saying "sorry I just realized you were declined".

I was about to cry all over again.

I wouldn't say that my rejection letter from UCSF was mean or anything but did they have to HAND SIGN it?

that's honestly the most propostorous thing i've ever heard!

p.s. the tuoro thing is true, i got the, "your application isn't viable" letter, i laughed pretty hard at it... didn't want to go to that POS school anyway:meanie:

I just know a rejection will come soon from my #1 pick in FL even though ive worked so hard to improve from taking 5 difficult upper level science classes (microbio, anatomy, cell bio, etc) and did well. Even made a 95 PCAT for a school who gave interviews to ppl with low 70's and 3.4 GPA's but refuse to even consider an interview for someone with ~3.0 due to pharmcas calculating repeats but Im getting a degree too and having a 3.5 in pre-reqs grade, 3 years work experience.

I guess what it comes down to is just being average for most schools if ur GPA or PCAT is not average then chances are slim even if u excel in one area such as GPA or PCAT. Its not fair how adcoms from one school can see potential in a student but the one that matters dosnt see any potential. Will i give up? NO, ive received a few interview invitations and if it comes down to it i will improve on my GPA and shine next year if i have to. I feel my faith is broken somtimes but only time will show the path.

seems very unfair indeed; however, i don't think you have any room to complain. California applicants have it the worst, if you have a GPA Under 3.5 you're completely and utterly screwed... Cali schools don't take PCAT into consideration, so if your application lacks in GPA there's nothing really to compliment that with. F-ing sucks!

I felt the exact same way and was pretty bitter about my rejection(especially after I read about all the people with 2.8 GPAs being asked to interview) untill I had an enlightening moment. After talking to some UCSF students I have realized me getting rejected from UCSF had nothing to do with me being a bad applicant - it had everything to do with the fact that I wasn't smart enough to SELL myself in a way to fit enough the school profile. I believe strongly that they have a VERY specific profile of a student they are looking for and if you don't fit it - you are out. I had all the leadership crapp that all the people with a 2.8 GPA who got asked to the interveiw had - all the leadership, mentoring and blah, blah, blah. But I was sooooooo clueless so when applying I didn't even realized I could put half that stuff on my application.

Next year I dunno if I'll apply to UCSF I could deal with me being rejected but the fact that my uberly genious bf got rejected from their Ph.D program pissed me off even more.

I was reading an old thread from last year on the University of Pittsburgh, and a few people who got rejected were notified by an email entitled "E-Reject". Needless to say, the program sent out an apology letter.

Any chance to get into pharmacy school? 3.1 gpa 76% pcat A year of pharmacy experience?

Hi guys I just recently applied to pharmacy school. I was a little late on my application and barely met the march 3 deadline. I will have a bachelor in biomedical science at the end of this spring semester; however, I feel as if i will be rejected and not sure if i can handle it. Is it even possible to get an interview with my gpa and pcat score?

It's hard to believe!!! So, if I got acceptance letter, I will wait one more day before yelling out...

Last Monday there was an "accept offer" choice on my Texas Tech account when I logged in. It directed back to log in. When I did, it was still there, and I clicked it with the same results. This time the accept button was GONE.

I didn't interview with the group they were considering that week, so I'm hoping it is a sign of things to come. But man, has that made me impatient. 😱

Your chances were severly hurt by applying so late in the game. If you do not get in this year, apply very early next year (June or July).

It's very hard to do anything other than a form letter for a rejection. I wanted to give applicants feedback and tell them how to improve for next year, but I got stopped dead in my tracks by my boss who said that it opens the ground for a lawsuit so you don't say anything other than "we regret to inform you", etc.

Two years ago a school I know of accidentally sent out 190 acceptance letters for only 150 seats... they were too scared to retract the acceptances (potential for lawsuits?) but don't have the funding to admit all these extra students...so they had to offer the extra 40 people seats for the nxt year's class! Pretty good deal if you ask me 🙂
