So right on the heels of my Christmas Subpoena

I get a letter from the State Medical Board telling me I'm getting audited for my CMEs. Ug! For those unfamiliar with state licensing boards they are the DMV of the medical world, annoying, inefficient and omnipotently powerful when it comes to your license. The states I'm licensed in (CA & NV) both require you to sign that you did your CME but don't make you send all the copies in, unless you get audited. Getting audited is random and is just bad luck. So I got to spend another day off going through my files from 2 years ago to prove I wasted... er, spent the required amount of time doing CME.😡

BTW- To add insult to injury and to show their solidarity with the DMV and State Boards ABEM give you no CME for doing the LLSA.😡😡😡

I'm working on my Nevada license right now. What's up with the mandatory four hours of bioterrorism CME? How do you get that completed?

Back when that requirement came out there were lots of specific courses offered in it around here. I believe you can apply any CME that covers anthrax, nerve gas, etc. In EM we're actually lucky because that's at least within our world. Think how annoyed the OB/Gyns and PMD types are with that one. One good thing is that you only have to do that once. I suggest looking for an on line course that covers a related topic and using that.
