How do you keep your eyes from getting tired while studying 8+ hours per day in med school?

I turn off the blue light on my computer. I simply manually change the light settings so the screen is on the “night time” setting and it has greatly helped my eyes not hurt anymore. I do the same thing to my phone

Blue-blocker lenses or change the settings if you don't wear glasses. Artificial tears for dryness.

They make something called Digital Protection Glasses for those who don't wear prescription lenses. Super inexpensive on Amazon. Ive started trying these out and they actually do help.

Breaks. Proper glasses. Eye drops. Well lit environment.

Wear the “cheater” reading glasses - dollar tree has some that are good enough- get a 1.00 or 1.25.. this helps my eye strain decrease a lot, or lets me zoom out further to see more on one page while still being able to read it all.

Just curious, how much time studying per day would be considered efficient?

8+ hours is pretty realistic when you're taking classes and studying for step during M2. I'm a very efficient studier and I'm studying probably 10 hours a day right now. Before that, I think 7-8 hours is pretty typical.

I don’t know any medical students who study 8+ hours a day 7 days a week. Maybe during crunch time and the week before exams. Otherwise you’re supposed to manage your time more efficiently.

This was before exams. I just took one today.
