what do you WISH you had known before med school? that is, can you give me a reading list for the summer before med school? now that i am in, i would really like to ensure a quick and easy transition

Advice: DON'T study before you start school!! Enjoy the summer. Travel. Veg. Do something fun. You should definitely savor your last few months of down time before you hit the books in August. They would not have accepted you (esp. this early) if you weren't worthy. Some schools ofter pre-matriculation programs to give you an idea of what school will be like, so do that if you feel the need to start studying early, but please, don't waste your summer studying!!
