I was just wondering if medical schools commonly have on-campus bars. the state university that i currently attend has one on-campud and i couldnt imagine going to school without one. any input would be appreciated.
Um... no. Have you ever seen a hospital with a bar?
I imagine you won't have to look too far in most cities to find good spots though.

You're kidding, right? I seriously hope "on-campus bar" isn't at the top of your priority list for choosing which med schools to apply to.
When I first arrived on-campus, we were told a "campus bar" does exist in our student center tucked in a corner somewhere. It's only open during special university-wide events, on a free open-bar basis. Of couse if you like drinking warm beer and wine out of cardboard boxes, this is your kind of watering hole.

I see why this person is called "dumbest premed." 🙄
I don't know. Wouldn't it be funny to hear 'paging Dr. Smith' and see a guy jump up from the bar and down his last drink?
here in prague, there are bars everywhere....on the hospital campus there are several. the local brewery makes special trips to make sure the patients have thier pivo (beer). it is not unusual to see doctors, nurses and (heaven help us) even ambulance drivers enjoying a tall cold one at lunch, or even breakfast!
that was a bit of culture shock, but i gotta say i love it!

Comedy Gold 😀
My campus has a couple bars too 🙂 But then again, it's not just specifically for the med school - it's for my whole university. It's very common for european uni's to have bars on campus...actually, it'd be uncommon not to have one. It's a great place to unwind after exams. And, the hospital we train at has a bar across the street that the med students and doctors unwind in. However, I totally would not put stock in choosing to attend/not attend a university based on whether it has a bar or not. That'd be kind of...stupid?
Rice Unversity is just across the street from both UT-Houston and Baylor. There one finds Valhalla, one of the greatest places on earth; $0.75 Shinerbock and one of those old Neo-Geo game systems. Greatness.
Temple has several bars nearby but the patrons have a habit of resolving disputes with razors and bullets. I tended not to frequent these.

Usually it was the chicks using the razors. They were all G12P10 types with lots of knowledge of chemistry and no teeth. I was sort of shy and insecure back then. Maybe I'd stand a chance with them now.
