Really if you want into the "top tier" schools, you should have minimal 3 years in sock research with at least one first author publication. Otherwise don't bother applying. Although a friend of a friend's sister's uncle's cousin's nephew's ex-girlfriend once applied without sock research and gained acceptance. But her background check revealed a speeding ticket that was accompanied by a mis-matched sock violation, so her acceptance was revoked. True story

I think when I start i'm gonna go witht the ones that look like hand gloves and have a space for each toe! I'm all about close skin support!

🤣What kind of socks do most medical schools prefer their students to wear? Is it variable or do you pretty much get the same sock in a different wrapper? Will my choice in socks affect the shoes I can put my foot into in four years?
I heard DO's aren't allowed to wear socks. Is this true?
Is anyone else a little weirded out by this picture/concept?

I actually saw two guys wearing those a couple weeks ago, playing football. They said it was really hot on their feet.
vibrams are the shiz. Keep your feet healthy traditional shoes are gay
Contrary to the beliefs of many new med students, whether you wear socks or not in the first two years has little bearing on their ultimate accepability at the most exclusive shoe stores. Terrific socks may effect the functionality of one's feet, but some have innately high-performing feet even without socks.
Of more importance to exclusive shoe stores will be how high one's arches are after the prolonged weight-bearing of third year clerkships, submitted foot-analysis reports by faculty foot experts, and whether you get the AOA stamp on your instep (Acclaimed Orthotic-free Adaptability). Research credentials are only needed if one plans a long ROAD trip.
Its nice that advisors have a sense of humor too lolI agree completely. That comment, plus your avatar, tell me everything I would ever want to know about you.
You have a point, but...yeah bc all tapout wearing kids are meatheads right?
all muslims are terrorists?
all asians are cheap nor can drive?
all cali kids surf and smoke weed?
all indians smell like curry?
you are all that is wrong with america.
I've passed judgment about you and it's too late. Our feet is a magnificent piece of anatomy that shoes only hinder. I would walk around barefoot if it was socially acceptable. Vibrams are the next best thing.

It hurts me as much as it hurts you, but my mind is made up. And my mind is stubborn. Have you ever tried arguing against it? It's like talking to a brick wall. Better luck next time. Are you sure Dr. House? Isn't there anything I can do to make you reconsider? Your opinion means the world to me

My ex-boyfriend wanted these. Ergo, I think they are quite stupid.
(I actually met a guy wearing them and he said after two weeks he couldn't wear normal tennis shoes without his feet cramping up and hurting like heck.)
I hope you didn't consider dating such a wuss.
I'm gonna go with judging you because you don't know anything about the topic...may I present:Our feet is a magnificent piece of anatomy that shoes only hinder. I would walk around barefoot if it was socially acceptable. Vibrams are the next best thing.
Here is an excerpt from a website about running barefoot.
"Why run WITH shoes?
Were you born with shoes?
Did you grow shoes on your feet as a response to running?
What makes you believe that shoes are necessary?
Were you created, or did you evolve, to run with shoes?
What a cruel trick God, or nature has played on us, if we are so helpless that we could not run until we invented shoes!
But, seriously folks, from the moment when you first stand, walk, or run barefoot, your bare soles are going to immediately, precisely, and emphatically feel the ground. This is going to have a profound effect on the way you choose to walk or run. For most people who have lived with their feet inside shoes for long periods of their lives, its going to result in walking or running more gently much, much more gently."

I hear that people wearing turquoise socks have a 66% chance of getting into medical school.
Ninety-nine percent of those being interviewed wear black socks. This is so boring. To stand out in the crowd, it is a great idea to wear colorful socks. Then at adcomm meetings, they can refer to you with a reference to your sock color and everyone remembers who you are. Beyond wearing a unique color, I highly recommend glitter, gold stripes, or beading on the basic sock. Think outside of the (shoe)box and your chances of an acceptance rise.I have ~4.0 pairs of red socks, 100+ hours of sock shopping experience, am involved with at least 3 sock clubs, and volunteer part-time at a sock collecting facility for the underprivileged. What are my chances with a top-tier sock store?![]()
Hi everyone,
I have lived in the US all my life, but I've always worn socks which were made in Nicaragua. Am I considered URS (under-represented in socks)?
^ morning's psychotic cousin?

Oh man. I totally thought this thread was entitled, "Med School Sucks". Maybe the fact that I have an ungodly amount of information on my next exam has something to do with my misreading...
