Should we do the first evolution upon acceptance or matriculation? I was thinking of doing mine upon matriculation and then again when I begin residency. But just like in the original games, you can use rare candy to speed it up or press A or B to postpone evolution.

UPDATE: Here is what most are doing:
  • First evolution at acceptance, second evolution at matriculation
  • First evolution upon receiving your first interview, second evolution at acceptance
  • First evolution upon attending your first interview, second evolution at acceptance
I will mark your evolution as II (interview invite), IA (interview attendance), A (acceptance), or M (matriculation).

We need some fun during these stressful times! 🙂

I'm going to evolve when I get my first acceptance. Since I'm Eevee, maybe if I'm lucky enough to get multiple acceptances, I'll change to different Eeveelutions depending on how many I get, starting with the original three. (Doubt I'll ever get to Glaceon or Leafeon, but one can dream...)

I'm doing first interview, then acceptance. To me, there's no guesswork between acceptance and matriculation, so it's not the same kind of milestone. Plus, as I've said elsewhere, I'm applying with a 3.3, so odds are good that any II I hopefully get will be the pinnacle of my app cycle, and I'd hate to stay as Pidgey only!
 
I only have one evolution, so I might have to go through different stages. Like right now, Psyduck is asleep. Then maybe when I get an interview, he'll wake up. I probably won't evolve into Goldduck until matriculation. :xf:

Hmm, that makes a lot of sense. My GPA is on the low end as well, so now I kinda want to do the same and evolve after my first interview... argh, this is what happens when you have 7 (edit: oops, I meant 8. Forgot Sylveon existed.) possible evolutions but no second evolutions. What do you guys think I should do? It would be cool to progress through at least several Eeveelutions.

(Yes, this is totally what I should be thinking about right now.)

OOH. Good idea. What if I interview at two schools in a row that both have blue and white as their colors or something like that?
 
I'm going to see where my first interview is from! If it's one of my top choices (probability: 5/14) then I'll evolve! If not, I'll wait until acceptances I think.

Genius! That is actually such a good idea. I recommend this to other people who only have single evolutions to work with!

I think that's a good suggestion, but honestly for Eevee there's so many choices that you could just change to the color of the first school you get an interview at! Then when a school comes up that has colors corresponding to another one, change it to that. Then acceptance, do whatever you want!
 
Are pokemon (pokemen?) the new penguins for this years app cycle?

Eevee's hidden ability of anticipation is very important when it comes to med school admissions

Also, pulled a Psyduck on my MCAT. A wile organic chemistry lab technique appeared. dog_swag became confused. It hurt itself in its confusion.

This is kinda funny. I'm actually doing the same thing with Futurama characters. It'll be a scary day if I ever make the professor my avatar...

Note: Also, Scyther and Magmar never got an evolution as far as I know, so I would have been out of this one.

Jynx doesn't evolve (at least not in the original, and most of us seem to be from that era) and Wheezing/Koffing seems a bit incongruous for a doc, no?!?

Well, for Magmar, you can always do Magby - Magmar - Magmortar. Scyther evolves into Scizor.

Look up Scizor (gen 2) and Magmortar (gen 4).
