I'm a little bit confused by the AMCAS application. For example, does anybody know if I am supposed to submit the application without the letters of recommendation? I thought you were supposed to submit the application in early June and then the letters of recommendation in September. If that's true, then why is there a section for "letters of evaluation" in AMCAS? I am using the LOR service at UCLA that sends the letters in one big packet. Can somebody explain to me exactly what I am supposed to do regarding this? Thank you so much.

The letter of evaluation section is the only section that you can change after you submit your primary. So you are able to add letters to it later when you need them.

Your school's file service should have instructions on how to send your letters to AMCAS. I believe you fill out that you have a 'letter packet' from your school and all of your letters will be in it.

After you add your letters you can assign letters to each school you applied to under the 'Medical School' section where you chose all of your schools. Also be sure to click submit again every time you make a change to your application otherwise it won't take effect.

Hope this helps

This is correct. Note that you can also add schools after the submission of your application (not just LORs).

The contact information (addresses, phone numbers, etc.) may also be updated at any time.

Thanks for everybody's help. I had no idea that you could do all of those things after you submitted your application. 🙂
