Do you think it would be significantly easier for an American with an understanding of the Russian language to get into a medical school in Russia? Are they just itching to get foreigners, especially Americans, over there by offering great financial aid packages? Would the degree transfer well internationally?

Yes, no, no, no, no, no.

Really? You want to go to Russia? Really?
I don't know anything about the quality of medical education there, but do you know anything about quality of life there?
This is not about understanding the language. It's about understanding the culture.

I understand Moscow has a pretty good international student population (maybe not many Americans, but still) and is pretty modern these days. Heh, rural health interests me so maybe I could end up in Siberia, as opposed to Appalachia. Wouldn't that be grand.

In Soviet Russia, YOU pimp the attending.

In Soviet Russia, YOU reject MIT. (Moscow Institute of Technology)

I quit... Just don't go to Russia.

Yeah, sure, Moscow may have a diverse student population. But do you really know anything about Russia?
You know, the whole quality of life/not-so-democratic government/crime rate...
And there is rural healthcare in U.S., and then there is Siberia. And these two are pretty different.

Bear in mind, all of the opinions expressed by the previous posters are based on carryovers from Cold War propaganda, which was as bad in the USA as it was in the USSR.

It's not all fun and games, though. Remember,

In Soviet Russia, test takes YOU.

In Soviet Russia, patient gives rectal examination to YOU.

In Soviet Russia, TV watches YOU.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, you must keep both negatives and positive in mind.

Some of the women are amazingly good-looking.

You may not get a residency back here in the states, but should you decide to stay there, you can score yourself one mega hot wife. If you speak the language, that's even better! Your communication will be flawless - she'll know exactly what to cook you for dinner every night! (kidding, kidding! don't kill me ladies)

roflmao 😀
hahahaha I can't stop laughing

Russia is not communist (soviet) anymore. Keep in mind that Moscow is a dangerous place with a very high crime rate - especially if you don't look like one of them or white enough. Over hundred journalists were killed within the last decade likely by the Putin government orders. You'd also need to find out if you can even get a residency or work here after you finish the school in Russia.

On the positive side: some of the best food and one of th largest ratios of beautiful women.

this thread is useless without pics😀

Empirical data. Walking the streets around Arbat and Kremlin and observing. I have not seen such a large concentration of good to great looking women anywhere else. Historically a lot of Europeans of high position have married Russians (and some have been screwed). They are great to have fun with, but you better watch out!

Standards for what's attractive vary, but I am very picky about that. Here in Cali the only place I have seen such a great concentration has been at some of the beaches (like Venice). But these areas have a lot of tourists from Europe, so...

I haven't visited Russia for several years. I don't know if demographics have changed significantly or not.

(Some of the pics might get you banned.)

I gotta go to Russia, now

Any one out there from Kursk State Medical University (ksmu)? Or any body going there? How's the place for Asians? I heard the living standard is average type and so is the education too. Is it true?
