Hey all, I am currently sitting at a cGPA of 3.78 and an AACOMAS sGPA of 3.61. I will apply in 2012 at a few MD programs, but I'm leaning toward osteopathy and looking closely at KCUMB, KCOM, and others.
I have been fighting hard for just one more 4.0 semester, but it's unlikely that will happen. I have crunched the numbers and if I get all Bs in my science classes this semester and next, I will be somewhere around a 3.66 cGPA and 3.43 sGPA when I apply in June. Note than I'm not a hard science major so my sGPA really applies to just the prereqs and a few other courses that go into the AACOMAS science GPA calculation. I also have 48 hours of graduate credit with a 3.94 GPA.
I think other aspects of my application will be decent, with shadowing x3 docs (including two DOs (including one KCOM alum)), 125 hours clinical volunteering, 125 hours non-clinical volunteering, a few nice ECs, and work experience. I have not yet taken the MCAT.
What I'm wondering is where will these numbers put me come application time. I know people have been accepted with lower stats but they all seem to have something amazing about them, e.g. veteran, parent, 40 years old, worked 60 hours/week in school, etc.
