So I'm about to submit this SallieMae Medloans application which the AAMC suggested for 4th year residency interview and travel expenses.

Before I do, does anyone have any recommendations on another loan source, or have any problems with obtaining a loan from Medloans?

I am very curious about this MedLoans as well for residency interview costs. It says that we have to have proof that all of the money went to residency costs, etc. How on earth do we keep track of all of that??!!! Sounds like a lot of extra work.
Does anyone have any other ideas?

I took out my loans with citibank because there were no fees with it and interest rates were comporable. Their website is www.studentloan.com

I only had to get a letter from my school stating that I am enrolled, will be graduating this year and plan on starting a residency. Apparently our registrar does this thing all the time and I got my letter the same day I requested it.

Here are the loan sources we got from our school:

www.aamc.org (med loans)

Ask your financial aid office for info about these places. Ours had a whole spreadsheet on these companies and the differences in the fees, APRs, and payback options. medloans and citibank had the best deals in terms of fees and payback.

I see that you can get UP TO $15,000 with the Medfunds loan compared to $12,000 with Med Loans. Has anybody received the Medfunds loan and if so, did you have to go through a credit check or have trouble receiving the maximum amount of $15,000? I see also that Med Loans is a private, credit based loan. Is the Medfunds loan harder to get than Med Loans?
