hi,
i will be applying to med school and have an appointment with an adcom member. i've got a list of questions - are there any important q's i should ask?

I would definitely ask what your chances are of getting in early. If they are not very good to excellent, then don't apply early decision. Better to apply to all schools in June than to have to wait till October only to find out you weren't accepted early decision, thereby royally f*cking yourself over at every school to which you might apply.

should i bring a CV? how should i dress? what should i expect? a grillage or friendly Q&A?

I would bring CV or other pertinant info. and I would try to get suggestions about how well you fit the profile they are looking for (and therefore how to present yourself in your personal statement and secondaries). Other than that, I'd ask the same "get to know the school" questions that are good to discuss at your interviews.

I wouldn't expect it to be a grilling. I would assume it will be casual. Mine were.

As for early decision... unless the ADCOM member says you are a shew in and you definitely want to go there, I wouldnt do it. I did not apply early decision after discussing it with Dean of Adm, because she said it did not improve my chances of admission - and most importantly, if I was good enough to be interviewed as an early admit, I would get an early interview anyway. She was right, I was interviewed on the first interview date for both of my state schools and within 2-3 wks of the first dates at other schools. So, whats the benefit? Just get your stuff in EARLY, and you get the same benefit.

I would say... "so, is there anything I could do to ensure my acceptance?" And then I would wink and lick my lips... but that's just me.

i lack significant clinical experience...mostly a few summers of bench stuff. After i graduate, i'm going to work for a year on a clinical research project (hiv dementia) and am expecting a lot of patient interaction. I'll only be a week or two into it by the time i submit the AMCAS. Is it "too late" to be considered "significant" in the eyes of the adcom?

Just because this hasn't been mentioned in so long, and because it's SDN history... you should truly consider wearing something in hunter green.

Cock ring, visible thong... whatever works with the rest of your outfit. 😀
