So tomorrow is the first day folks should expect to hear back from Meharry! Good luck everyone and post as soon as you find something out 🙂 The rest of us need some hope too!

Him being out on vacation does not sound very promising for people on the waiting list.... I mean June 16 start date correct?? Means their class is pretty much set so he doesn't have to worry about pulling so many people off the waiting list.....
Sorry guys but this is so stressfull. It seems that if there was a large group of students they were going to pull they would have done it..

The lack of communication or e mail responses is killing me. I called and asked if they expect waitlist movement. They said that they can not speak about any information at this time, almost like its a national security threat.
Definetely not compassionate way of dealing with all of us who are going absolutely crazy trying to to determine how we will spend the next year of our life........

Look, I don't mean to be negative. but when you are sitting and waiting to take a job promotion, retake mcat, get engaged, reapply, and wait to see if you will get in to medical school, its scary and this board is part of how we share our thoughts, and information. I think Meharry is an awesome school but the lack of information regarding the waiting list and students taken off the waiting list is truly stressing me out...

For example, Meharry may have June 1st as the day they make decisions on all open waitlist spots. So, instead of having acceptances trickle through May and June they do it all at once. Am I right? Who the heck knows ya no?
I hope you all get some good news soon. The MAPS (mandatory pre-matriculation ) program begins on the 19th of June. THey just started to send out registration info so maybe that means they are close to narrowing down the final list for the class.

I'm with US Army Doc on this one...there's no need to stress. Meharry's e-mail said June 1 at the earliest, and with that date being so close to the weekend, it is not likely anyone will hear anything realistically until June 5 or 6. Meharry hasn't exactly been the timeliest with communications thus far (at least in my case), so I wouldn't start sweating just yet.
And besides, as several people have pointed out, we've all already done everything we can. Flying in, writing desperate letters, and making desperate phone calls is not going to change anything - and in my opinion, it could be risky to do anything beyond send a simple LOI, because it could be viewed as demonstrating a lack of maturity and patience. Don't get me wrong, I'm not coming down on anyone by any means. All I'm saying is what's the worst case scenario? So you don't get in this year. You do your Master's, do what you need to do to strengthen your app, and reapply. I, for one, am not going to give myself an MI at age 21...we've got our whole lives ahead of us to get into med school.

Well, I think it is good to show continued interest and will probably harm you if you only sent 1 LOI. I have sent ~4 with updates. I know people said updates are not taken into consideration but either way. If the adcom sees you trying to make an effort its gotta help.

I don't even care if they don't take my updated grades into account. If they get a letter from me, it shows desire. Obviously, I wouldn't go send one now. It'll just be a waste of time.

No news from me, just checking in. I was away at a five day residential portion of a training programme I've been in, in psychotherapy. What an amazing experience! For five days I didn't care if Meharry had called. I almost called and said to withdraw the 2006 application! I want some more say in my process... Instead, I'm making plans, getting ready for a new year, strong and happy. I'm going to be torn if I do get accepted late, now! I'll go, but I'll be unhappy at the loss of the other plans, because there are other plans now, that i have interest and excitement available for. In a couple of days I'm going to visit family in Ireland for 10 days, so I won't be around. If I get news, I'll find a computer. But I'm free of this nothingness wait, and i have THINGS to do! The first thing I did after getting back was change around all my furniture, which I had been wanting to do for a while, and my living room now has a prominent desk space - I feel some articles coming on. Action, fluid action finally, after all that waiting.
May your week be filled with growing excitement for other things, and one of the first acceptances off the waitlist, as the second-best to what's really goin' on.

I don't think they have even met yet. I spoke to a friend who knows Mr. Mosley and he feels they are waiting for a time to just send out a mass acceptance for the waitlists. He also said he knows for a fact that they take around 15-20 people off the waitlist each year. He feels that its bull that the class if full. No med school class has a 100% retention rate.

For the people who are waitlisted at Meharry, are you also waitlisted at other schools as well... Meharry seems like an enigma too me because it seems like a great school that is very well organized and very great students and staff when you go there but in the months following my interview I recieved no sense of what my status was as they never replied to my emails. Also, their school starts on June 19th and I graduate on June 17th, lmao, so they dont really give me much time to prepare anything if I do get accepted to Meharry. I will definetely attend Meharry if I am accepted though I can honestly say its not my first choice among the schools I am waitlisted at but its good to pass up. I really dont understand why their school starts so damn early. Does anyone feel like this school just doesnt care for the applicants as they dont give me any info and just send an informal email in late may saying im waitlisted, calling me a waitlistee, lol. At other schools I have a name.
A buddy of mine, who is a current student at Meharry, speaks with Mr. Mosley pretty regularly and stated that Mr. Mosley will be on vacation this week. So, I am totally guessing that Meharry is waiting literally till the June 15th date to see if anyone who is holding an acceptance at more than one school is going to give up their seat or not. I don't know! What do you all think?
I'm currently on the waitlist just like alot of you guys. However, I'm also an international student. If I do get accepted don't I need to get my F-1 Student Visa first and I think it takes sometin like at least a month to get the visa???!!!! So does that mean that I will have to miss a month of school?

Exactly how many times a year does Mr. Mosely go on vacation? Because from what I understand I think he was on vacation most of May. Anyways, this whole waitlist thing has become such a conundrum. I interviewed March 27 and never got a letter or an e-mail or anything to tell me if I was rejected or waitlisted. So I basically had to call them over and over to ask about my status until Mr. Mosely finally sent thier little generic e-mail saying that I was waitlisted and should not expect to hear anything until after June 12th which is pretty close to when the pre-matriculation program starts. So either they're just stringing us along for an inevitable rejection or I don't even know what. All this stress is un-called for guys.

My biggest pet pieve with Meharry is that like to display themselves as a big family and I am sure that is true. But for us waitlistees, we are ALMOST part of the family and they treat us like we mean nothing. No responses to emails, no return phone calls, etc.
Can anyone tell I am starting to get annoyed?
