They will also send the notification via snail mail, as well as some additional school info, map of campus, and some hotel info as well. I would strongly recommend that you look for a different hotel that the one they suggest, the holiday inn is just too expensive. Save $30 and stay in a best western down the street or something else. Check expedia, travelocity, or any of the other discount travel sites for a cheaper place. The only benefit I saw in staying at the holiday inn is that you get a free transfer to the school and back the day of the interview, and you get to meet and hang out with the other interviewees in a setting other than an interview setting. I would suggest that you spend the $$ on a rental car to take a look at Nashville. I had never been here before and it was pretty cool to drive around town and check out the place that I might potentially live in for the next four years 😀
As far as the interview goes, it might sound a little clich?, but just be yourself, that is all that interviewers are looking for. Relax on the interview day and be prepared for potential questions about your grades or MCAT scores. I can't remember whether or not the interview is open or closed app, but mine wasn't, however don't count on that. Take your time when they ask you a question to formulate an appropriate answer. I have yet to hear one of those "charged" political questions on abortion or euthanasia, but just in case, educate yourself on the facts of the issue, both pro and con, and come up with an answer. We all have our opinions on certain issues, but I seriously doubt that they'll ask you something like that. Personally, I found that the longer you talk to you interviewer, the more pleasant the experience with him/her. Since you have survived the application process up to this point, the interview is just to find out a little more about you.
You're almost there! Have fun over there and post your experience or email me, let me know how it went! Good luck! 😉
