Hey everyone,
I know that we are advised to pretty much memorize this book for the pathology on Step 1. i was wondering how you guys are planning to go about this seemingly Herculean task. Right now, I'm pretty much copying the book onto notecards, hoping I am picking up some stuff as i do that.
Just thought i'd get some more ideas from y'all.
thanks,
hobbie

Just make sure you understand the diseases you are learning. Memorizing pathology won't get you very far if you don't understand the concepts underlying what is going wrong. Get a hold of Goljan's STARS path book or something with better explanations, if for nothing else than a reference for BRS.

I would start by going over the path in First Aid if I were you, because it covers the stuff at a more basic level, then reinforce what you learned by going over the same section in BRS Path as you just did in First Aid. I think trying to memorize all that extremely detailed information right off the bat without having the basic concepts and diseases down first is just going to be an exercise in frustration. If you learn the FA material, then you can kind of use it as a "scaffold" to tack the BRS Path details onto. At least, that's the way I plan to do it 🙂
