I'm going to be interviewing in the Northeast (PA, NY, MD) and want to know what to wear for the interviews. It's a bit more laid back here in Seattle with our wardrobes I suspect. Is it a sea of gray suits or what?
I'd like to hear from people that have previously interviewed only please.

c'mon, it's a pretty easy question...
thanks

well, you did limit it to those who had interviewed before... (i'm assuming you meant having had interviewed for residencies)

I have a grey suit that I plan to wear. I have a few different suit/tie combos so I don't have to wear the exact same thing to each interview. 😀

This post probably did not get any responses because the answer to the stated question is obvious tio most. Consider it like your medical school interview and wear a suit. If you cannot afford a suit, a nice sports coat should do. Good luck.

what color suit should men wear? i heard wearing a black suit is faux pas.

I guys I am new to this circuit. Can anyone please help me know where to buy a nice suit. I am having trouble finding a place with a reasonable price, any suggestions.

I personally like Jos A. Banks. There are many other places including department stores (e.g. Macy's, Dillards, etc...). Don't forget to try the Men's Wherehouse. I personally think a suit is a future investment so I would avoid stores like K&G where you can buy a suit for a hundred buck. Hence, you get what you pay for. Good luck with your interviews.

If you have a couple of nickels to rub together, then srping for a nicer, tailored suit. Not only will it look nicer on you; but it will also fit better and therefore not cause you to fidget & squirm cause your pants are riding up your ass or your crotch is hanging half-way to your knees.

Ideally, your suit should not be what the interviewer focuses upon. The focus is you, your application, qualifications and your presentation --> YOU! Personally, I picked up two suits, Men's Wearhouse frequently has 2 for 1 sales as does many other men's clothiers, and both were tailored to fit me nicely. Then, for a personalized touch...HATE looking like a funeral home director or any one of those plug 'N' play "power" business suits (dark suit, white shirt & stick-in-the-ass conservative tie)...I chose bold shirt colors w/ coordinating ties that complemented my suits. That made it easier to pack for multi-interview trips.
