Hey Farcus, when did you have your interview? I interviewed on Oct 17 and still haven't heard a word from them since...

If it makes you feel any better, my stats are very similar to yours, and I'm sure I was rejected too (I just want to get my letter to confirm it).

Wow, I cannot think of why - the only possibility is that you should've just said you're a leader. Pharmacists have to be leaders and that's just the way it is...but then again, they can't just completely deny you just for that! Your stats are way better than mine, but they said they want to see my fall grades before further consideration. Have you taken any upper level bio/chem courses above the requirements?- coz maybe most applicants in this pool will be coming in with a degree, putting others without one at a slight disadvantage. Let us know what the dean says.
 
Do you know for sure that your LORs were good? That is so strange. 🙁 I'm sorry to hear about that!

i don't believe it. you're lying! this makes me even more nervous.. my stats are pretty similar to yours. Maybe it was your LORs (as someone already mentioned)? But then I can't imagine why they would call you for an interview if those were really weak. I'm sorry though, good luck with other schools! You have strong stats, so long as Mercer wasn't 1st choice, I think you're still ok. 👍
 
I had similar stats, and I was accepted. I also have over 110 hours of credit as a biology major with lots of upper level science credit. I will be receiving a bachelors so maybe that is what set me apart. I am also a hospital technician, and I had references from a Mercer pharmD graduate and a clinical pharmacist. I also let them know at the interview that I will be applying to the residency program at the hospital that I work for. They look at everything, not just your stats. You have to set yourself apart from the others in ways other than your grades.
 
How come I still didn't get anything from them yet? Someone told me that I should have heard from them last week at latest. I know it's not good news, so thats why I feel it'd be too awkward to call them. My stats are pretty good, however, my interview was probably a mess, considering everything else is fine.

Anyone else here that interviewed on Oct 17 heard from them yet? I know some of you have gotten acceptances, but what about the rest of us?
 
hey Farcus, that is weird. I am surprised myself that you were not waitlisted. i'm currently waitlisted and my PCAT was a little higher, but my GPA was much lower than yours. however, I had some great LORs and clinical pharmacy + research experience. did you ever hear back from them why they rejected your application?

So Farcus, what is the verdict? I would like to know why that happened as well. I pray that it turns out they just made a horrible mistake, and that you were really accepted! I wonder if we can request a re-evaluation...
 
Waitlisted. What are the chances of being pulled off the waiting list?

i sent an email and the associate dean replied but i haven't had the balls to read it yet i'm waiting for a good day. I hope i can get reevaulated. In the mean time I'm gonna finish all my supplementals for 3 other schools. But I really just want to go to mercer =(

For you sports fans - Mercer has beaten both Alabama and Auburn in basketball already 😱 and went into overtime with Georgia Tech last night. Go Bears!
 
nova, lecom, and south i'm pretty confident in all three but then again i was confident with mercer too 😕. I'm do UGA also i'm probably get waitlisted though.

why haven't you applied to state schools? I see a lot of ppl always applying to private schools but not state schools. Doesn't make sense.

I didn't think my interview was that strong. I had to wing it, because they notified me like a week before the interview, & I was so close to declining it, but changed my mind at the last minute.

I also felt like the student interviewer kept asking me the same ethical questions over and over again, and I got frustrated because I was repeating the same answer each time. On the other hand, the interview with the faculty member went great.
 
Well i read it and he said I scored very poorly during the interview... I'm still going WTH i thought I did really well except may be during the middle part where you were suppose to socialize with everyone until you're pick to be interviewed again. I even knew my student guider(not the student interviewer) and he prep me for some questions... Well this is my first interview so... i'm still mad mercer was my first choice. But the dean didn't say anything else about my grade/extra curr/or Personal statement or anything so it couldn't be those problems at least.

Sorry to hear, Farcus. I wish you best of luck for other schools. You've made me nervous at the same time, since I thought i did very well throughout my interview too, but i wont know my verdict until 12/11!:scared:

I know Mercer sponsors a Drug Info residency w/ Solvay but can anyone comment on ANY of Mercer's other outside connections for rotations and / or future job opportunities? Thanks!

I submitted my supplemental on Nov 17, got an interview offer on Nov 19, interviewed on Dec 5.

Now, I'm waiting for the result coming out this week!!!!:xf:

It's been only three weeks since I started applying.

Hey I was at the same interview! 😀 Wonder if we're find out if we get accepted before Christmas. Would be a nice present.
 
I think if we're not getting a call by the end of this week...it's a no. :/
 
I doubt we're get calls before thursday though. Melva said the admissions committee will be evaluating applications this thursday, so the soonest they should have a response will probably be friday and onward. Nerve wrecking to think about..
 
They called me on a Friday around 4pm. It was a great weekend after that.
 
supposedly they will meet tomorrow afternoon and those accepted will be notified early next week! :xf:
 
if you don't get a call...but see an email. that's bad news as well.....omgawd dying over here.

I got a call today too. I dont notice what time, she left a message in my voicemail telling me to call her back. But I suppose that means I got in!
 
Hi all,

I'm an out-of-state. I just submitted my PharmCAS on 12/1 since my recommender took forever to write me the letter 😡. I'm planning on finishing the supplemental app this weekend. What are my chances? Is it too late? Does anyone know how full the class is?

thanks guys! I'm super excited. I don't really have a "top choice", there are really 3 schools that are kind of my top choices and Mercer is one of them. If I end up getting in to all of them, I'll have to start factoring in things like cost, location, etc. But I am definitely excited to be in the "mercer family" 🙂 so far it sounds like a good entering class (at least from what i've read on the board!)

you could definitely still land an interview. my only concern is that (since it is rolling admissions) that they may not be accepting that many from your interview session. Some schools are different though and I don't know exactly how Mercer runs (if they accept a fixed number each session or if the accept more/less as they go on). But as long as you beat the deadline, that's all that matters and you're just as eligible for an interview. good luck!
 
I had my supplemental application finished on September, but my application wasn't complete until October PCAT scores came in...now I'm patiently waiting to see if I get an interview! Melva said 2-3 weeks so I'm hoping I hear something next week.

I had a long talk about their admissions process. And it is advantageous to apply early since it is rolling admissions, they said they don't accept a fixed number for each session. And they also said it is possible that if 20 people go to the interview, all 20 can be accepted. It's a nice thing to know considering I heard some other schools only accept a fixed amount from each interview. 🙁
 
they said during the interview i went to that they try to keep a few spots open towards the end to give others a chance.
