My interview was September 25th. I'm an undergrad 3rd year with a 3.95 gpa 84 pcat, almost 2 years pharmacy experience...they said by the middle of October we should hear back! I'm so ready!!!!

Awesome! Mine was scheduled for Oct 9th @ 1 pm.. but they are letting me come on the 16th instead =)

Are they making decisions on the 16th for all of the interviews they have done thus far??

actually i think they're meeting next Tuesday to make decisions on the first 3 interviews. My guess would be that if you're interviewing mid October that you will hear back early November. I think I remember them saying that the admission committee meets at the beginning of each month. Good luck at the interview you all! Let me know if anyone hears anything back from Mercer or if you have any questions

they talk about the school, finaid,etc as a group. We had a group of about 11...then they split the group up and a p2 took us on a tour of the campus. Then you get interviewed by a faculty(20-30mins) and a current student(20-30mins mine was a p4). no advice to give just have fun and try not to stress/worry about it. good luck!

I haven't seen anyone interviewing yet. I always go straight home to take a nap after classes. Getting up at 7 am every morning sucks big time. Why don't you apply to Mercer?

Only one good reason - It's not in CA and that's (w/ 99% certainty) where my wife will be attending law school.

Stanford or Boalt... we won't know for a while yet, they string along their applicants almost longer than Pharmacy schools do, heh. And they don't even interview. So it's submit application and supporting documents and then wait, with zero feedback except for "Hey we got your packet"... then 9 1/2 months of silence.

She doesn't want to leave CA because of the weather and the fact that the two best intellectual property law schools are here, and the best IP law firms have satellites in Marin and San Francisco. Not to mention all the best authors come to S.F. to do book signings and stuff, and she absolutely can't live without it.

I'd like to try New York some time, but anything south of that holds zero interest for her or me.

I've only been to NYC three times and all 3 times it was way too short of a trip, but I loved it. I only think I could tolerate it, though, if I lived in a place like the Village or Tribeca, and took public trans. in... because living in a dingy ass 300 sq.ft closet @ $1,900/mo in Manhattan is not happening.

Umm.. I e-submitted early Aug I think? But my PCAT scores were just sent last Monday.. then got an email on Fri for an interview! How'd you do on your PCAT??? Good luck...it's still really early!!!! 🙂

Jordana will not me interviewing people. The interview is closed file so they won't know anything about you before hand (including GPA/PCAT, etc-although some will bluntly just ask you), so the most important thing is to show them exactly who you are & TALK TO EVERYONE.

I got a voicemail message today, and she didnt specifiy if it was a rejection or acceptance or not, so i have to call back tomorrow.
But i cant wait!

I don't believe they'll call you for a rejection. From what I heard, if you get a call then it's something good. They should be meeting up this Friday and calling people after their meeting... so expect something soon

They meet the first Tuesday of every month, make decisions on those who interviewed with them the previous month and then call applicants. Whether or not they call people who have been rejected I am not sure. I interviewed 10/30, got a call on 11/3, and received my formal letter 11/9. I am extremely happy with the school's organization and welcoming vibes to both interviewees and acceptees. So stay hopeful, people! And GOOD LUCK!

Congrats to you too! Honestly, if I got into UNC or UCSD, it would be REALLY hard to choose between them and Mercer. They are great schools and I was very impressed with both UNC and Mercer at my interviews. So I figure it is a win-win-win situation lol.

YES being a GaTech grad will help a lot as a matter of fact. I had a friend who took the PCAT for the first time last January and she got the last interview date for Mercer and she got in.

I just finished my application today... 🙁 Mercer is rolling admissions so I am kind of worried about my chances. I'm out of state (from Florida) so I was wondering how hard it is to get an interview and possibly an acceptance at this point in the year?

General info:

Bachelor's in Biology (May 2009)
Chemistry and Psychology minors

Working on MBA

GPA: I think it's going to come out around a 3.4 in PharmCAS, not sure yet
(I had a bad junior year and made some C's but my other three years are A's and B's)

PCAT: 93 composite
(I did really good in chemistry, biology, and reading, but I got an 85 verbal, and a mid 60's on the quantitative. BUT I took Calculus I and II and received an A and B+ respectively so I guess that's okay)

Volunteer work at a hospital pharmacy

Participated in competitive cheer and dance all 4 years

Part time jobs as a waitress and secretary


and that's about it.

AFAIK, they look very favorably on a bachelor's degree. When I got the acceptance letter, they stipulated to let them know if I fail to complete it. Rather ominous.

One person in my interview group had completed a masters, and that impressed Dr. Bartling.

I did interview fairly early though, no clue how many seats are left, but I think you have a good chance.
