I'm not sure if this is a good idea, but I met with an adcom a few months ago. They seemed really nice, we had a ~1 hour conversation where I asked questions and they told me a lot about their program. They gave me a tour afterwards where I was able to see the campus and their academic buildings. Overall it went really well - the only thing I stupidly did was say that my uGPA was about a 2.5 (but with grade replacement it's closer to a 3.2. I know, I'm an idiot
). All they really replied is "well that's pretty low for our standards", but didn't linger on it. About a day after, I emailed them and thanked them for the tour and for sitting with me and they replied and said no problem, and to feel free to email with any other questions.
From what we discussed, once my application is in, this adcom is not allowed to sit with me or answer any questions related to my application outside of an interview. However, is it a bad idea to just shoot them an email saying something very short, just thanking them again for sitting with me previously and that I really loved their campus and submitted my application to their school about a week ago? Just so I can kind of put my name out there, I guess? Or would this be bad etiquette?
Any advice would be so greatly appreciated!
