Any word from MGH aside from the initial batch of acceptances a couple of weeks ago? Care to split hairs and offer opinions about MGH vs Hopkins vs UCSF?

I am still waiting on MGH, not a peep from them yet. Did you say that there were people that already got interviews? On their website it states that they will start giving out interviews at the end of november.

No comment on hopkins,

I got an interview invite at MGH on 11/16. I'm sure they are still extending invites. relax, it is still early for them.

good luck

I am curious as to how well you did on boards, ?AOA, ?research, most importantly ? med school.

I know this sounds silly. I just got rejected from MGH with high 230's on step 1 and 2, 1st author pubs in prestigious journal, did well in med school, but went to an avg midwest medical school. I am not too worried b/c I got interviews in other very respectable places. Although, I am wondering how big of weight does the name of the med school carry in getting interviews in you MGH and B&W and other top notch hospitals.

Thanks PCN

For what it's worth, I'm a non-AOA guy from a non-prestigious, non-top-25 school and was offered an interview at MGH. But not at Duke. Nor at BWH. But yes at Hopkins. So really, the whole thing puzzles me, and I think it's a big crapshoot. So I'm just going to step up the poker table with my pair of 10's and see what I can do!

Cool, thanks for the info. Good luck at you interview. I think that 10 will take you far if you spin it well. I am sure you'll do great.

My situation mirrors cubby's: non-top 25 school (state school in fact, although I am AOA), interviews at MGH & Hopkins but not at BWH or Duke. very odd...maybe they care about "breeding" ? (although another poster has suggested that to get the nod from BWH you need around 250, AOA).
And btw, from their email the MGH interview consists of a "panel"--faculty members & a resident and lasts 20 mins.!!!!! :scared:

Interviews seem really random. You all have really impressive interviews though. I'm not in top 25 of my school, non-top 25 school, average board scores, and have had a lot of luck with interviews. Seems a little subjective at times.

Better talk fast at MGH 🙂 It is good though that they have multiple interviewers. I have had interviewers where we really hit it off, and some where there were only pleasantries.

If anyone has had MGH, BWH, BID experiences, please post. Thanks a lot.
