Hello,

I was invited to an interview on February 5th at MGHIHP for the OTD program. I was wondering if anyone has any general idea as to what the interview questions will be like (as this is a group interview and I'd like to be prepared!). I've gone to another interview at another school and they basically asked questions alluding to how well you'll succeed academically in your graduate studies rather than typical interview questions, i.e. What are your strengths/weaknesses, etc.

I will also be attending that interview. I would probably expect the same questions that you were asked from the other school. To be honest I interviewed at a different OTD program earlier this month and it was nothing like what I thought the interview would be like. They didn't ask anything about strengths/weakness's, or any typical question that you might find on an interview website. We participated in a group project and then presented it, the questions were more scenario based questions and how they pertain to OT, it was more of an in the moment type thing rather than something that you can prepare for. It was pretty laid back, but still intimidating! Good Luck to you!

Hello! I'll be at that interview next weekend as well. I had one other phone interview a few months ago and a lot of questions were pretty standard while others were a bit random. For example, they asked me how comfortable I was taking public transportation to get to field work sites that may be far away. Some were OT situational, like describe a few different uses for a plastic cup. Others were more about how you approach situations, like describe a conflict with a person of higher authority. Etc.

Also just wanted to let you know that the BU interview actually isn't a group interview, if that makes you feel better! I called them because I thought that as well after seeing 3 slots for each time when signing up, but there's actually several faculty doing interviews at once. She said it is 2 faculty for 1 student.

I'll be there this Friday too. This is going to be my first OTD interview; I've had a bunch for MSOT so far. Not quite sure what to expect but I'm sure it won't be anything crazy! I've done group interviews with 15 people and this says "small group" interviews so it will probably be a little more controlled.
