MIA: NYU Check?!

So I wrote a check to NYU on 8/7/08. I recieved an email on 8/21/08 from NYU stating that they recieved my application but two essential components: my DAT score and $75 check. I replied to their email and told them that I took the DAT for the second time (8/19/08) and that I wrote them a check already on 8/7/08. They replied to me today and said: "Please know that we receive a high volume of mail. Due to this high volume, our records show that we have not received your check. Please note that this does not necessarily mean the check has not been received."

My question: did anyone send their money in before recieving a reply from the school saying that they are missing your money? If so, did you wait it out or what did you do? Thanks.

You could always cancel that check and send a new one CERTIFIED so you know that they got it. It kinda sucks but then you will know for sure if it is there or not.

hey buddy. i just called them. the lady on the phone was very nice. i told her the date i wrote the check (7/11), the date it was cashed by NYU (i checked with my online banking - 8/4) and she said that soemtimes if the money gets there before the AADSAS application or something, it doesn't get noted and stuff. but she took care of it while i was on the phone with her and now my app is under review cuz that was the only thing that was missing! so give them a call. they're very nice!
and plus, you just wrote them a check 3 weeks ago. it took them 3 weeks to cash my check so think about that too :]
