Michigan Vs. Pitt

Hum, how about telling us why you like these schools in the first place?

michigan (was highly recommended to me when i applied by numerous doctors at ucla...don't remember why or anything else... but location wise, definately wouldn't be in my top choices...)

Hello!

I am going to Pitt. The school seems to have a shady reputation on this website, but after I visited there I was really impressed. Well, I assume you have been there too, since you were accepted 🙂 .

Anyways, my father-in-law lives in Ann Arbor and seems to rant and rave about how great the area is, but I can't personally say anything since I have never been there. Pitt however seems to be located in a great area with a lot of culture, and the school seems great too. I am a resident of PA and I get in-state tuition, so that is a plus for me as well.

Hey, if you decide on Pitt, we will be classmates!

Don't forget to post your acceptances on the official thread!

Are you looking to specialize or do research? If so then I would recomend Michigan. Im sure you can specialize and do research at Pitt, however UMich is nationally renowned for the research done at the school, which will only help you if you are trying to get into a specialty program and have participated in some good research at the school (which I was assured had ample research opportunities and a DDS/PHD program).
