Microscope and nearsighted

Why is it that you can use a virtual image when correcting nearsighted but must use a real image when using a microscope? I learned that the objective in microscope must produce a real image but for correcting nearsightedness, you use divergent lens. Thanks!

Ok so I'm confused about these two questions. Why is it that objective of a microscope must create a real image whereas the other problem says that virtual image can be used for a compound lens system? I thought microscope was a compound lens system? Thanks!
