  1. Pre-Podiatry
Hi guys, I'm entering my senior year, and looking forward to applying to Podiatry school. I really enjoy the field, and it's my number one choice of graduate programs. However, my GPA is in the 2.8-2.9 range, and although I haven't taken the MCAT quite yet, my practice scores are usually in the high 20's, so I'm hoping I'll at least be able to get a 24-5. The rest of my app is great, I have tons of volunteer service, even internationally, clinical hours, lab research (I am even published on a study), and also hold a leadership position at a club on my campus. However, is all of this enough to still get in with a 2.9 GPA and a 24-25 on the MCAT?

I had a 3.0c with a 2.9s and a 28MCAT and I got into three of the schools I applied to and got scholarships to two of them.

I would definitely try to get at least a 25 MCAT.

I would do some personal reflection and think about why your GPA is lower. Did you run into any personal problems, you just didn't put the work into it or you have poor study skills? Be honest with yourself and be honest with the admissions committee and promise to yourself and them that you are working towards improving your GPA when you get to the next level.

Also apply early! Preferably no later than February-March.

apply early as possible and study hard for your mcat.

Thank you guys so much for the advice! My GPA is low because of an abusive relationship that resulted in severe anxiety. I'm contemplating taking a post-bac year to raise my GPA, as I was already planning on taking some time off after graduation to study for the MCAT, and apply with the following year's batch. Do you recommend taking this time to do a post-bac as well to raise my GPA, or just focus on the MCAT?

Just focus on your mcat. I got interviews invites from all the pod schools with a 2.9 gpa and 29 mcat. Chose to interview at 3 schools and got accepted at all 3.
