This year is going so far good... my midterms grades mean nothing really but hopefully I can keep up the good work I have two test next wednesday.

I wonder how everybody else is doing. Anybody dropping anything?...This is not a place to brag about grades but to encourage each other or what not.

Does your school use the plus/minus system? If so, nice job.

Professors usually have a dart board with grades on it for giving out midterms.

There are a number of schools that don't use the +/- system, mine included. Although, my school is considering a change to the +/- system.

There are other school that don't use +/-? (no sarcasm)

I thought only U of A did...

Yeah, there are still quite a few schools that use the non-plus minus system. I have a friend that goes to a state school and they don't use it. Funny thing is, my GPA is still higher haha.

Congratulations. Not bad so far. I would aim for that A+ if your school has it.

It can work for or against you. If you get a A- you get an A.. if you get a B+...you get a B. 🙁

(I know you already know... I'm just bitching..)

4 cr. Calculus - A
5 cr. Microbiology - A
3 cr. Biology of Aging - A
4 cr. Non-Western Music - A

This could very well be my first 4.0 ever in college...I'm a senior btw

I think Texas Tech is not on the A minus system.. But midterms dont mean much I have a major test after the posting of my midterms that could easily change my grade to a letter grade lower if I do not do well.. I am extremely exhausted.. I'm not even taking a heavy load.. with applying to the honors college next year and taking 3 more hours I dont know if I am going to make it...

I wouldn't kill yourself over it-- just remember that AMCAS removes the pluses from A grades before sending out the applications. All A+ become A. I got a handful of A+ (maybe like 10-12), but all of them were removed. However, I got the A+ because I wanted to, not to make my application look better (it's a 4.000 for an A+ or A).

At my school, it depends on the professor. Some professors use +/-, some use only - , and some only do A, B, C, D, etc. I've never been in a class that gives an A+. I have A's in all my classes so far though -- biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, algebra, and Freedom in American Society.
