I worry bc SC has got this nutty new academic policy where they start sweating you down if you get a 'c'. I got an 'a' on the first exam, but it wasn't enough of one. Like, i'm worried that you could smoke one exam, but if you pooch the next one hard it'll take you down to a range that's unacceptable. we had a bunch of peeps in our class that were in the 60s or below out of 105 pts and they've got a hole they need to dig themselves out of.
It's a weird mindset, bc if even if you don't care about getting A's on your final transript you're shooting for them just so you know your gpa won't get hammered during the lean times.
I always think of sports analogies: If you wanna finish the season with like a .350 batting average you need to have months where you bat .465, to compensate for the months you bat .200.
As far as do peeps later on really care that you got straight a's? My answer is 'no'. I think they're way more concerned about you're activities, performance in rotations, and demonstrated leadership. The director of uci med center told us that she doesn't give a crap about gpa's or LOR bc both are so inflated these days. Which sucks bc i don't think gpa's are inflated at all at sc, but lilmk could answer that better than me.
