has anyone received the actual acceptance letter? I am waiting for it still.

for future interviewer: if you have tech experience, definitely say it. Don't wait until they ask you. the first question will be introduce yourself, say your motivation, tech exp, anything that make you SHINE! be active not passive.

Ciaociao, when did you interview at CPG?

I recieved a letter from the school. I was expecting a big packet but I recieved a regular envelope and was scared that my Interact Now Account was a lie. But it wasn't and the envelope did had my acceptance letter in it.

I received my letter yesterday too, and I was thinking the same thing! Small envelope!! I live pretty close to school, so those of you who are farther way will probably get it today or monday.

I got the mail 10minutes ago YEAH!

some member asked me tips about interview, here is my exp share with everyone. hopefully helps.

the interview is group interview, so it's better for you to out shine the rest students in the same group with you. When you enter the room, try to sit close to the interviewers. There will be a big table and students just sit around. If you sit close to the interviers maybe they will remember you.

Keep smiling always!
They have to write down notes during interview, so keep in mind that give them time to write down your information.

My first question is introduce yourself. This is a question you can expand more. There is not particular order who go first or last. If you wanna go first, then go ahead but you don't have to.
During question like "tell me about yourself", please say as much as you can that is positive about yourself. For example, why u wanna be a pharmacist, your motivation, your background info(mayjor, from where, work as tech, volunteer here and there, what's so special about you, your undergraduate research, etc, anything you do related to health care, something make you memorable).
Other questions includes: what is your hobbies? I said i like music it helps me relax and volleyball, it requires TEAMWORK (i believe you are smart enough to know why I say that, TEAMWORK!)
Question: describe a situation that you have to make a big decision. Give example to show you are a compassionate person. And some questions about pharm tech work exp.
There will be two interviewers, they both have a list of questions and they will pick randomly.
Tips: Always be positive, confident, formal dress.

my essay was describe what aspects/characters do you think are necessary to succceed in professional level study. I wrote something like ethical, time management, active study etc. They have many different topics and they are given randomly.

When I was answering my first question, I was so nervous that my voice sounds like I was crying. Take a deep breath, and after a couple rounds, you will be more relaxed.
Before go to interview, make a list of positive things about yourself, and make sure you mentioned all of them during interview.

hope this helps.

i agree, i got a rejection but it doesnt matter since i wasnt going to the school anyhow. Try and come up with all the questions they throw at you. I was in a group interview with like 6 other people and i was the youngest one and had no Tech Expirence. All i did was volunteer and i think that ruined me. Since they would ask what would you guys do in this sitatuion and almost everyone had 4-5 yrs pharm tech and would relate it to their jobs and give a situation and all i would say was if i were in this i would. I dont think they liked that at all.

my Stats

3.4 GPA
3.33 Science
86 PCAT
Lots of Volunteer
Good LOR

and that is about it

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!! You must be so happy and relieved now~

Thanks a lot for your wonderful info! That's really helpful. Since you said the interviewers ask about pharm tech experiences, can you tell us what specifically they asked?
I'm having an interview on the 13th. freaking out.. :scared:
and.. what was the essay prompt?

Thanks again.

I can feel your pain NotCoy... i have recently started working full time in CVS and although I've seen so many situations with patients and insurance --- i wonder if I can think of these situations fast! can anyone give examples of situational questions??? Thank you!

yep rejection and no i dont have a degree yet. May 08 i will have a degree and a chem minor, i was the only one in my group without a degree and without any pharm tech expirence + I am applying as an International Student so i have no idea if that hurts me chances or not.

i got my letter todaying. F-ing waitlist lol. That makes 1 acceptance and 2 waitlists so far. I hope they accept me eventually so i can reject their acceptance!!!! hahah jk. just a little bitter.

Oh okay...so you are the fellow interviewee who also attends BU, right? Well, good luck on your interview. At least you have the advantage of a recent interview experience..

so you go to BU too i'm assuming? since no one else knows what BU is lol..definitely not boston university.

You mean your "investment", not debt of over $100,000

ahhh!! i have an interview in mid-december...

i will be there too. it will be damn cold thats for sure. bleahhh..

The admissions lady told my group (Nov 13th) that they receive 2500 applications, interview 500, and accept 200.

I thought she said they accept 300, since not everyone chooses to attend midwestern.

I do recall the same - they accept 300 but their class size is 200.

I hope to hear good news from this school soon, good luck to you all.:luck:

When you guys from the 13th get your acceptance let us know and how you found out: interact now account or by mail. Cool

Im comin into Chicago at like 3pm on the 16th...anyone else gonna be there that day?

oh really?? so what if 230/300 students wanted to go there? would they increase the size of the entering class then or what?

well, they probably had a pretty decent prediction to accept these many people anyway. I personally don't think I need to worry about whether they are increasing the class size or not. The school won't be shut down or anything just because they accepted more people than their maximum capacity.

I'm sure based on their experience with the admissions process plus its a pretty expensive school they have that 300 size straighten out.

that too, if people get accepted by a "better" school in their home state, i am sure they wont pop out 15k for cpg and 20k for ccp out of their pockets.

i don't think they mean they accept 300 students at a time. I think they mean they accept approximately 300 students over the course of the interviews and off the waitlist, as people reject their acceptance. As in, they accept #203 as number #17 withdraws. Thats just my theory. Eventually, they probably have a turn over of about 50-100 students that reject them. They have had class sizes over 200, but its been about 203 or such. So they probably don't over accept by 100 people, and just hope 100 don't come.

I'm from Southern California. I'll probably book my ticket for the 15 or 16th of December. Damn it'll be freezing there.😉

for those of you that interviewed on nov. 13/14th, did you take the pcat again in oct?? If you did, do you think these scores will impact the committees decision/ do you think the scores will make it in time for them to consider??

i'll write real quick and get to studying, i'll check this back on sat. anyhow for me it really sucked as i was the least qualifed person in my interview group. i was 21 and almost everyone was 25,26,27 with buisness degrees and like 7 years expirence. i was making up answers as i went since most were towards the majority which were the people that worked as a pharm tech, my group had i think around 8 people and you guess it all 8 were pharm tech with graduate (not undergraduate) degrees so i felt pretty dumb as i am still working on my degree, but anyhow i guess i am still you. All of them were first applicatnts except one person who applied 3 times and keep getting dneied. now the questions arent hard to answer but they want like a scenario that happend to you. in the end i really wanted to say i am not an intersting person but nah. Questions were like tell us about a scenario in which blah blah blah, what qualified you as being a pharmacitst. what is ur obligation, how should you treat pateins, tell us about something that happend to you, tell us a scenario in why you were in a group project and one of the members didnt do anything(really didnt know how to asnwer, i dont take classes with projects but didnt want to state that so i made up on the spot). i used this to just get the feel of the interview i didnt even know it was a professional only school till somone told me. Also be prepared for the why midwestern and dont be ******ed like me and asnwer cause i live close to it and i get instate, talk about how its dedicated to 2 professional fields and stuff. I am not going to go there anyways, just wanted to get a feel of how i would do and what to expect etc... didnt prepare much, o ya and keep noding like you know what they are talking about.

edit: o ya try to sit in the middle during the interview, i made a stupid move and i guess we were seated alphabetically so i was always answering the questions first and everyone would just say ya and... so i was really destroyed. o ya and it really expensieve $50,000 dollas and they will notify you within i think 4 weeks of ur interview and you must place a nonrefundable reserve seat which is $1000 within 2 weeks of acceptance 😱

sorry for spellin mistakes, its like 3AM and i have an exam and want to sleep. feel free to PM

o ya and i hope the Midwestern commite doesnt read this board as i think i left the most horrible impression and i bet they still remember me and can pick me out and i dont want to get denied, i want to deny them hahah back to studying 🙂

i'm going to interview at midwestern CCP in December. So is the interview one on one with an admissions officer or is it conducted in a group? Did they give you a test? if so, how was it? how were the questions.

thanks

The wait for the acceptance from the Nov 13th interview is seriously killing me here. I know we were told the beginning of December, but I was kinda hoping that they old us that so people don't call and bother them. Hoping we will find out this week.....kinda getting nervous

Same here, good luck!:luck:

Same here, good luck!:luck:

were you there on the 13th too? I thought the interview went OK, the essay wasn't too bad either. Hoping that being instate might help? The stats show about 77% in-staters, and most of the peeps seemed to be from out of state. Kinda thinkin' that the ADCOM assumes that it wouldn't be the out-of-staters first choice to go to CCP if accepted somewhere closer to home. Or maybe I am making up things in my mind because I am going delirious?:meanie:

People who interviewed on the Nov 13th and 14th, have you heard anything yet?

nothing yet for me and i interviewed on the 14th... im guessing itll prob be another week?
