ya..some people have been pulled off the waitlist in january from earlier interviews.

more people will be pulled off once UIC Pharmacy sends out their acceptances (end of march beginning of april)
 
Do you think that much people who already put down their deposits for midwestern would even think of going to UIC. Is there an advantage of going to UIC? If it's the price, I hope all you acceptees withdraw and go to UIC.

I think most chicago students try and get into UIC first and is their top school.

Deposit for Midwestern: $1000
Tuition for Midwestern: $26k
Tuition for UIC: $9000

Financially, it makes sense to save your spot at Midwestern with a deposit...if accepted to UIC you end up making that deposit back many times over with the cheaper tuition.

Also, many think that UIC is more highly regarded. Personally, I will go to the school that just feels right to me.
 
omg, 9k only?! lol. Is that school hard to get in compare to midwestern?
 
Yes, especially for out-of-staters I believe... I don't think they accept many.
 
I did not know professional school could be soo cheap. Makes me want to move to chicago so i can apply to this school.
 
Hey guys! I'm new to the forum so whaaaats up? I interveiwed Feb. 4. So I have some bad news. A guy I know who interviewed Jan. 21 called Midwestern today and they said the committee is not meeting till the end of Feb.😱😡:scared:🙁👎 So if you interviewed after that "you will not receive a letter untill the first week of March." If anyone has heard anything different please let me know.

Unfortunately, i heard the same! They're meeting in two weeks (i heard this on Wednesday). And yes, I was one of the unlucky ones that interviewed on Jan. 21st, so I guess I'm stuck in this horribly LONG waiting game.
 
Hello all!! Im new to the network.. I sent my supp in for CCP in Dec and still havent heard anything from them. I also sent my supp in for Glendale at the same time and got an interview. Why havent I heard from them? Is anyone else still waiting for an interview?? This seems quite strange and when I call...all they say is were still processing apps.
 
how many ppl from Calif. got into CCP? I think ill be there for class of 2013!!!
 
I interviewed on 1/21 as well... ugh! They told us while we were in there that we should know something by the first couple of weeks of February. I expected it to take longer then that, but now we have to wait until early March :scared: Why can't they tell us the actual date the committee is meeting? Why is it such a big secret? I find it hard to believe they don't have those meetings scheduled in advance. Sorry to be such a whiner, but if they could just tell people what to expect it would make things a lot easier.
 
I have to agree with PreciousThings on this one. I don't think you sound like a whiner because you would think that the admissions office would lobby to have them schedule the adcom meetings ahead of time so that they could tell us a better approximation of when we will hear an answer at our interview. That would solve the problem of having all of us calling them cluelessly asking when the adcom meets next because we are freaking out so much. I interviewed at the University of Iowa last weekend and they told us straight up when the first adcom meeting was and then told us that they meeet once a week from there on out. Granted, they do not operate on a rolling admissions basis like Midwestern, but it still has made me a bit more at ease knowing which days it is possible to hear a response, unlike Midwestern where I have to compulsively check my online account...haha

Also, If anyone applied to Chicago state......did you send in 3 letters of rec.????? I just realized it was three which is stupid! they are not even accreddited and they are asking for more than the acc. schools.😡

I got an interview invite for Mar 11 or 13. Anyone else? It's kinda a late interview date. I'm wondering if the majority of the class will be full by then.

I got an interview for UIC...I'm nervous since it's my number 1!

I also applied to CSU. When I got the email asking for a third letter of rec (ridiculous in my opinion) I just told them I was withdrawing since I am already accepted to CCP and Chicago State was dead last on my list anyways.

I really did like Midwestern when I visited, but recent communications with the admissions people about certain pre-reqs (dont even get me started) have somewhat turned me off...

I'm a junior (20 years old) at Illinois State University, I'm from a town about 45 mins from Chicago.

73 PCAT
3.90 GPA
3 Years pharmacy technician experience with CVS
Strong LOR's
Plenty of extracurricular/community service

Lucky you lance13...............wow you applied to a lot of schools. I'm an idiot. I only applied to Midwestern, UIC, and Chicago State (which i won't be considered b/c i didnt realize they wanted 3 letters). I know I should have applied to more, but realistically I won't leave the state. I have lil bro and sis ages 12 and 11 and I'm like their mother so it would never happen. So if you could go to Iowa and leave ur seat 4 me that would be great.....he he. JK. :laugh:😉

I believe that they interview until April, so dont worry you have two more months 🙂

I interviewed yesterday. They still have half the class still open. They also still interview until April.

I got in as well!!!

Interviewed on the 6th. I was in group 1

I also got in at Glendale and am going to go there, so it will open a spot. However, I do have a question, I didn't accept offer to IL and they gave me deadline for fee and my checkmarks are all green on my prereqs. I accepted the offer to Glendale and everything is still red with no due date for the fee? Any ideas what I should do?

To all that got in CONGRATS!!!! to those still waiting HANG IN THERE!!!

I interviewed on Feb 6th and I wasn't expecting to hear back until early March so this was a nice surprise.

But I'm not sure if I want to go here or Thomas Jefferson....

Non-sci GPA: 3.9
Science GPA: 3.7
PCAT: 71 (I was worried about this)
Volunteer experience in community / work events, hospital
I'm a bit of a non-traditional student, I have been employed full-time for the past ten years while going to school. Pharmacy will be a complete career change for me. My current field is not healthcare related, but I think a lot of the skills and experience I had to put on my application really gave me an advantage.

SOOO excited. Now I can start freaking out about all the financial stuff 😱

Has anyone that got accepted looked at on campus housing yet? The nice dorms (redwoods) average out to like $850 a month. D.G. is an expensive place to live but that seems hella high for campus housing. Anyone that has put in for campus housing...let me know why you chose to live at the school and what housing you put in for. I'm think I'm going for the off campus roommates route myself, should be 500 to 600/month.
 
sigh* *raise up the white flag* no hope for me once i saw that 3.9 gpa. Been waiting to get pulled off the waitlist since my november interview. I dont think my 3.0 will even make the competition.

The older dorms are cheaper and bigger than the new ones, however, there aren't a lot of students living in them... my friend is one of three people in her wing that lives on the first floor. I asked her if she feels a little scared living there with that number people on her wing she said it does, but you get used to it. The area is pretty pricey (as I asked her about housing off-campus), so I think your best bet would be on campus. There's free internet, cable TV, and HBO. 😉

I have the same problem with CPG on my Anatomy class (I took it last semester). The woman at the front desk told me their people will verify with the transcripts that you sent once all their interviews are done (which is in March, I believe).

Depends on how you did in the interview.....you one thing about CCP is they just dont go by the GPA. I only had 3.24 cumulative and I got in because I kicked ass at the interview. If your pcat is bad and your interview didn't go well....then maybe not so good.
