I called the nbme to ask them what it meant but it did not make much sense to me . The lady who spoke with me told me that the examinees must still get about the same percentage of questions correct. That is 60-70% of the scores correct , but that the scores are scaled differently now and that is the why of the number increase. Then I called again to clarify the issue because I was not sure what I was told above was true and spoke to someone different and was told that every examinee beeded ar least a 75% of the questions correct in order to pass the exam and that she understood this implied getting more questions correct. I asked again for a third time one week ago and the lady who spoke with me told me they could not give me information about that. So who is telling the I dont know , so if anybody knows or would like to give their opinion I would be truly grateful.

Lol it seems the truth will never be known. I can guarantee it's not 75% correct....no shot. There would be far more people failing.

I know before it was heavily speculated that it was between 60-65%, which is why COMBank sort of struck it in the middle at 63-ish% for their "passing line." It would be good if it stayed that way. I agree with MeatTornado12 that 75% sounds pretty harsh. I likely would not have passed Step 1 if it were 75% (I had a bad day :smack:).

UW doesn't reflect much but it gives a hint or comfort, I wouldn't rely on it at all

Inwas told by anclassmate that a 65% or more in world equaled a passing score and in my experience for step 1 it is true
