I'm going to be spending a few days next week with general surgery on their minor procedures days. I was wondering what would be the 10-20 or so high yield topics for skin lesions I might be seeing. I'd be particularly interested in things that an IM/FM physician might be routinely asked about in their day to day practice ; "hey doc, any ide what this is/is this anything to be worried about?". Thanks in advance for any advice.

Basal cell, squamous cell, melanoma, lipoma, SK, AK, cysts, condyloma, abscess. That'll hit 99% of skin stuff you're likely to see on a semi-regular basis that needs any kind of cutting..

Honestly, if you're with the surgeons this is more about learning techniques than anything. Practice with different suture material, different techniques, that sort of thing. You'll really impress us primary care docs if you have do a decent one-handed tie. Totally unnecessary in outpatient but looks cool.
