I proofread everything a lot, but I noticed minor typos after submitting in my activities. For one activity I forgot to put the word "to". For another where I put two activities in the same entry I described how many hours I did the activity (one month 12 hrs each day 2 days a week) but doesn't explicitly total the number of hours. Will either of these mistakes cause issues for my application? They're pretty minor, but adcoms can rightfully be pretty picky.

Seems exceedingly minor to me. Just make sure it doesn't happen in a more important essay. I had two people proofread things... of course all three of us missed a typo that an interviewer called me out on... That was fun.

I wouldn't worry about it too much as long as it doesn't disrupt the flow of the description. Most adcom members are breezing through these applications (think about how many they have to read...). I would be more concerned with obvious misspellings or when the grammar disrupts the flow of the idea that you are trying to get across.

As long as the rest of the app is solid, I wouldn't sweat it.

This is exactly why once I submitted I won't be looking at it again until interview time. I'll just be neurotic and paranoid. I think you're fine though OP. Stop looking at it now!

Medical schools subtract a point from your MCAT for every typo they find, obviously.

In all seriousness, small typos like the one you described shouldn't be a problem at all, as long as there are not too many. I remember having a small freakout last year after finding a minor typo in one of my activities descriptions... Good times!

It happens. My PS to med school I probably proofread 5 times after I made the very last change, had 3 people look at it, one who was an English major and worked with me at the tutoring center where she proofread papers several days a week. Still, when I was looking back over it before my interview, I found the inevitable typo.

Don't sweat it. There's nothing you can do anyways.
