I got an email from Northwestern today basically saying: "thanks for your application, but because we did not hear from you regarding our offer to interview, we have filled all available spots."

The problem is that I never got the offer to interview- if I had, I would have taken it immediately. I've been vigilant about checking my email- and the junk folder, but there were no emails, no letters, no phone messages from Northwestern. Anyone else had a similar problem? What's going on? I've heard from a bunch of programs and have some interviews set up, so I didn't screw something up on my application.

I'm a bit freaked out about the prospect of missing other offers.

Any thoughts?

why don't you contact them and let them know what happened so you can at least be on a waitlist if anyone cancels? i assume if you got this email you should've gotten the interview invite email but it doesn't hurt for them to look into it to make sure they didn't make a mistake as well.

Just wanted to let you know I had the exact same email you did from Northwestern, saying I never responded to my interview offer (which I never recieved). I don't have any answers, but I figure if they sent that message to all "400 applicants" that they need to reject there would have been more responses to your post. I emailed her back, and am waiting for some answers, but I'm glad someone else had this same wierd message.

Thanks to NameHere for letting me know I'm not alone. I did contact them, and they got back to me quickly- it sounds like it'll work out fine- though I don't know what the particular issue was.
